Voyager is out of commission and not wanting to waste time tracking the Maquis, Janeway is forced to assume temporary command of the USS Defiant. joined by Kira, Odo, O'Brien, Jadzia and Bashier the Defiant dives into the Badlands to track down Chakotay only to find themselves in a bad situation.

This was written for International Fan Work's Day for 2022 where the goal is to remix older stories. This is a remix of Guilty Pleasures by Queen IX. How did I remix? I actually decided to do a remix of the story based on what I could glean from the summary and tags, but my reason for not reading the story I was remixing before I did the remix was so that the two stories were as different as possible while still having that connection a remix needs, which I'm glad I did because I ended up going in a very different direction for the remix than had I actually read the story - one that was more similar to the story being remixed. As for my reason for picking this story, I was browsing through the IFD stories for 2016 and the first story I saw featured one of my favorites from Star Trek - Odo - getting fannish over stuff and Kira being involved. My story also ended up being pee-relationship for the two.

After the Dominion takes Deep Space Nine and you're badly injured, you're brought to sickbay and beamed to The Defiant for medical attention.

(Forgive me if anything is out of character!!!!) Willow and Andromeda were found by Julian Bashir when they were four years old, and in poor health. Julian took them into to heal them, and ended up adopting them when he became attached to them. Two or three years later, he discovers that they are half-human and half-mutant, and they each have a power. As their father, it's up to him to help. Years later, they're 15, and still trying to figure out the whole powers thing. A threat now faces DS9, and it's up to them to save the crew.
