Crimson ichor seeped out of Tiberius's head onto the wooden floor planks beneath. The dark pool slowly spread around him as he laid still like a corpse. A bullet is affective for now, but observing Jack still holding his guard up reminded me to do the same.

"Isaac?" I placed my gun in the holster looking over at me partner.

He stood unmoving by the chair, even when I approached he remained unresponsive.

"Hey, come on answer me partner." I shook his shoulder and patted his cheek to gain Isaa's attention.

I gulped looking at two shallow puncture wounds on the base of his neck, it's non-lifethreatening although it's still a stomach turning sight. In my mind thousands of thoughts were racing at once, however all I needed to do is focus on getting Isaac out here.

Jack looked back over his shoulder at the two of us watching Isaac out of sorts. He didn't seem too worried about Isaac's condition, I can't say the same for myself.

"Okay Isaac, that's enough act normal now." I shook him harder. "Jack, what's wrong with him?"

I glanced over at Jack standing over Tiberius. Right as Jack opened his mouth to speak Tiberius grabbed him by the throat and in a flash he had pinned against a wall. I didn't even see that monster get to his feet he's that fast. The wall cracked like a spider web spreading out from the impact.

Tiberius had a crazed look in his greens eyes that seemed brighter than before. His hand is firmly clutching Jack's throat digging his fingers into Jack's flesh nearly drawing blood. My breath is catch in my lungs.

I drew my weapon once again aiming at the lunatic that played possum.

"Let him go, asshole!" I scream seething in a rage.

He laughed, "That primitive thing didn't work the first time, so what makes you think it would a second?"

My trigger finger nervously twitched switching my gaze from Tiberius to Jack. What ever that monster is I don't stand a chance, physically.

Jack struggled against Tiberius growling lowly with his own fangs showing. He looked over at me gazing at me then at my gun so I lowered it.

"What do you want?" I barked at Tiberius.

He smiled at Jack amused, then averted is attention to me.

"Now that you ask detective, I want you to take little Isaac here, and leave."

"Do it Olive," Jack got out before Tiberius squeezed his throat just a little.

I searched Jack's eyes desperate for another way, "No. Jack comes too."

"Sorry detective," Tiberius sighed. "Unfortunately, you cannot have your cake and eat it."

"Then I'll have every cop in Manhattan here in minutes," I threatened gritting my teeth.

Tiberius belted out a loud humorous laughter. His shoulders shook as if he just heard the funniest thing ever. Sounded similiar to a villain after devising an evil plan. Tiberius is overconfident, I would like to see him smile facing a squad of police officers with their guns pointed at his damn chest.

"You bring your army," he sneered licking his lips. "And I'll bring mine."

Ice filled my veins upon hearing that. My heart felt like it skipped a beat and not in a hot and bothered way. Like I couldn't believe the words that came out this lunatic's mouth. An army, an army like him. I couldn't fathom the idea, I'm backed into a corner. This is a losing fight, a fight with many casualties if I decided to engage. That monster already had Isaac and now Jack, there's no telling what else he'll do.
