Breanna's POV
I walk into the main office of the building that I will hopefully work for. There's a waiting area with a popcorn machine and a mini-fridge that holds water and all sorts of soda. There are even two different kinds of cookies-chocolate chip and M&M. Wow, these people like their customers a lot. I look over to my left to see that there are two desks, I'm assuming for the secretary, and behind those, there is another desk; not sure who that's for. But as I look, there are a few cubicles for workers and the bathrooms.
I walk to the waiting area and sit on one of the charcoal leather couches. A few seconds pass, and this short woman appears. She has dirty blonde hair with underlayers colored distressed pink.
"Hey, I'm Lisa. How are you?"
"Hi, nice to meet you; I'm Breanna; I'm good you?" I ask, standing up to shake her hand. She does the same as I extend my hand, and we shake hands.
"I'm good, thank you. So, my husband, Rob, will meet you in a second, but your second interview will be held in the oval office.'' She points to the office with a window that I can see; the light is on, and a u-shaped table and a few people are sitting there talking or playing on their phones. A man with dark-colored hair and a beard makes his way toward us; I'm guessing he's Rob. "This is Rob; he'll bring you into the oval office in one second," Lisa says before walking away.
"So I'm Rob; if you have any questions, don't be shy to ask any questions."
"I'm Breanna, I don't have any at this moment; to be honest, I did a lot of research on what I was getting into before sending in my resume.'' All Rob does is smile; that throws me off a little, but I don't question it. Rob starts to walk over to the oval office door, so I follow.
Rob opens the door and makes his way to his seat. I walk in, and I feel everyone's eyes on me. I sit in the only empty chair -it's the curve of the U- and look at everyone individually; as my eyes reach the end of the table, I see a guy playing on his phone; everyone else is off of their phones. Why isn't he? He's supposed to be interviewing me, not playing on his phone. God, people these days are addicted to their phones.
After a few seconds of silence, I introduced myself, and the questions began.
"Why'd you leave your last job?" Dawn, the manager, asks
"It wasn't the best job to be honest; there were multiple reasons for leaving. Um, the pay wasn't great; people's energy was toxic. If you made the smallest mistake, your job was at risk, and many other reasons."
"Anthony," Lisa asks. Everyone in the room looks at the guy at the end of the table. Who is Anthony, I guess. Everyone in the room has asked me many questions, but he hasn't asked one.
He clears his voice "yes, sorry?" he asks.
"Do you have any questions for Bree?" Lisa suggests
"Mmh, tell me a little about you, Breanna," He says, looking me in the eyes.
I give a little confused face, but I respond with, "well, um, I love anything outside. I go camping almost every weekend. I have a family trip down to table rock lake in a few months. But other than that, I love reading and trying to cook food even though I'm not the best at it; music and my family is essential to me as well as my friends. There is so much more, but I don't want to bore you all."
All this Anthony guy does in response is nod his head. The rest of the meeting goes by pretty quickly, but I can't help but wonder why Anthony was here if he didn't want to be; it seems like he doesn't have a big decision on whether I get the job.
The interview ends after an hour and a half. I was walked to the door by Rob and Lisa, who told me I'd find out if I get the job between tomorrow and Friday. I'm not doing much this week; I plan to hang out with Isabelle - my best friend- tomorrow.
