-short sneak peek point of view :)
Rylan's POV
ISAAC GRABBED THE freshly popped popcorn in the microwave and came around to the couch I was lying across.
"You can't leave me hanging on what happened down at Randy's."
"You don't even want to go there," I huffed. Every inch of my body was stiff with anger. After the interaction down at Randy's I was in a worse mood than I had been in this morning and it's all because fucking Kennedy Dyline.
The drive back to my apartment was silent, apart from the occasional moment where I would throw a fuck her out into the open. Isaac said nothing during the entire ride, instead he let my fuse blow short.
After multiple glances he broke the silence and said it may be useful to watch some previous comps of the other WSL competitors.
It seemed like a good plan, but now my mind is elsewhere.
I knew it was her at the supermarket I just couldn't bring myself to expect she'd ever come back.
He took a handful of the buttery corn and threw the bag over to me before he sitting down on the other side of the leather couch. "Do I not want to go there or do you not want to?"
"I definitely don't want to."
From the scrutinising look he gave me across the couch, I could tell he was trying all he could to decipher me.
He knew it was not his place to ask and I've always respected him for that.
We met through our jobs at the supermarket and after a couple months we were both surprised to have caught each other out on the beach with boards under our arms. After that day all we talked about at work was the surf and instantly became mates.
He's seen me angry, but never like this. This time it was about two years ago and that's the one thing I refuse to bring up to anyone. He already heard a glimpse of it when I had a go at Kennedy.
Running into her at Randy's felt like running into a deep dark hole that never ended. My emotions went crazy, memories resurfaced and I wanted to punch that pretty face of hers.
"Why wouldn't you let her have that part of the board though? It's got her name on it, even I saw that." He brought a handful of popcorn to his mouth.
My teeth grinded together. "Because it's not hers."
Isaac puffed up his cheeks and gave me a side eyed look. He knew there was some kind of lie I was holding back. "Look dude, whatever your holding onto, you should let it go or at least talk it out. That kind of stuff isn't good to hold onto."
With that he switched on the television and sunk further back into the couch.
But what did he know?
I pulled out my phone, not wanting to watch whichever competitor he pulled up. I found myself hovering over the message icon where Sam's text still sat on my phone. I've never brought myself to delete them, not the voice mails either.
"Don't do it."
My head snapped up to look at him. Isaacs brown eyes were narrowed at me, although his eyebrows were raising with a somewhat knowing look.
"Do what?" I replied.
"What ever it is that'll make you feel worse."
My eyes lingered on my phone and I sighed, switching off I threw it onto the coffee table. How could anything get worse?
A/N: just a super quick sneak peek of Rylan I didn't want to write much for this though the next chapter will be longer.
I just prefer to keep characters povs in separate chapters instead of merging them into one then no one gets confused.
Anddddd it's almost Christmas!!!! What do u want for Christmas? Cause I've got a fictional Wattpad man on my wish list.
