"I'm going to miss you so much sweetheart." She holds her daughter from a slight distance, as to not smudge her makeup. Her honey sweet words have little effect when she doesn't even hug her daughter for the sake of looking beautiful. Both mother and daughter are shadowed by branches moving with the invisible wind as the mother's eyes roam her daughter's face, memorizing the features. During the drive, the mother was infatuated with the black limo, gasping at every little trinket and device in the back. And she flirted with the driver, winking at him and slipping her number to the front when she thought her daughter wasn't looking. But she was. And saw everything.
"I'll miss you too." Lucy whispers softly, unable to raise her voice despite the great silence hanging in the air in front of the open gates, sinister black iron with plastic coating bars that could pass for the gates into Hell. Her dull brown hair is down to hide her face at any needed moment, but for now it limply lays on her white collared shirt. Her violet eyes are hidden behind her icy blue contacts, and her skin- she couldn't do anything with it but rinse it with soap, watching as her pale skin become even paler behind the black shower curtains. So pale, it seems to glow in the shadows. Something she detests for signalling only her out as different from everyone else. She breaths in the misty scent surrounding the school, something she enjoys as a faint smile curves up on her face and she closes her eyes for a moment. The air smells cool, unlike the rest of the town in the morning.
Forestry occupies half of the school's property, behind the great rectangular walls of the school with the town on one side, and extending into wildlife on the other. The girls only knows this, because of the map she has been given beforehand in the limo. The sun has only been up for two hours, and already threatens the coolness she is enjoying.
Lucy watches her mother walk back to the limo, with slight bitterness at how quickly and readily her mother lets go of her, aiming another frivolous smile at the driver. She watches the sun throwing harsh glares off the vehicle as it drives away, back to the small apartment her mother will now reside in alone. Lucy turns towards her new school, taking her tightly folded map out of her skirt pockets. She can't see the school from the gates, but she's fairly confident in her map skills. She takes a step forward onto the smooth rounded scarlet stone tiles. The step crossing into the school's territory, onto the path surrounded by forestry. She has some expectations for something to happen. Something to change in her. A spark to set her off. But there's nothing.
Feeling slight disappointment, Lucy silently chides herself for having expectations, knowing the unfair disappointment that always comes with expectations. She takes another step up the path, and something big knocks her over in a flash. Much too fast for her too see what had bulled her over.
"Ow." Lucy quickly considers the option of wild bears on the grounds as she clutches her head while sitting flat on her bum. Until she sees the sandy blonde guy with dark chocolatey eyes, blocking out the sun in the direction of the school from her vision, illuminating his tall figure clothed in the male uniform of a white collared shirt with the school crest stamped on the left side of his chest and black dress pants. He brushes himself off and offers her a hand up, all the while carrying an apologetic face. Then he seems to have a moment of enlightenment as his eyes widen and he looks at her from top to bottom.
"You- You're perfect. Will you be my girlfriend?" He grins happily and the girl, not quite straightened yet, nearly falls back down in shock, having received the first confession of her life.
"Huh?" She gasps in confusion at the handsome boy in front of her.
"Moose! Come back!" Another girl bursts out of the forest, her run more like a dance than a run, elegantly dashing towards the girl and the boy. Her flaming red hair dances with her body and her jade green eyes focus on the boy as she half snarls at him, completely destroying the graceful first impression the girl had of her.
