It was just before 7pm the next day and Stevie was already waiting in the lobby of the hotel. All she had with her was the same set of clothes that she flew in yesterday, so she spent the better part of the day shopping and she chose a lovely simple black dress, that fit her figure nicely. She also didn't pass on a pair of black boots too. She was wearing what she bought earlier, her hair wavy as she let it dry on its own, and some light make up finished her look.
Harrison noticed her right away, but she didn't, so he let himself watch her for a moment. What a gorgeous woman, he thought to himself. He believed he had made a rather good first impression, the last thing he wanted was to ruin it if she found out he had even the slightest idea of things going beyond just dinner tonight.
"Evening."
"Oh, hello." Stevie smiled, turning around. Harrison opened his arms for her this time and she stepped in, then backed off. "For a minute I thought you were bailing out on me."
"I'm offended you would think that!" He faked his disappointment, then offered Stevie his arm. "You smell really nice." He said before thinking. "I'm sorry, that was inappropriate."
"It's okay and thank you." She followed his lead, walking out of the hotel and into a waiting car. "I thought we were going to stay here?"
"Oh no, I know better places in this town." The driver opened the backdoor and Harrison stepped aside. "After you." He couldn't help but follow the lines of her womanly curves, as she climbed in.
The drive didn't take long and when they got out of the car, Stevie frowned. The place that they stood in front of didn't look at all better than the restaurant at the hotel. "Are we going in there?"
Harrison laughed softly and nodded. "It doesn't seem fancy from outside, but the interior is beautiful, the food is amazing and the wine... don't get me started!"
"I trust you."
"I would say too much for someone you've just met."
"Well, there's something about you..."
He didn't reply to that, because he didn't really know what to say.
Harrison had booked a table in advance and they were escorted to it as soon as they stepped through the door. He was a regular there. Naturally, they didn't escape looks from other guests, but neither one truly cared.
"Right, you're the expert here. What goes into my mouth tonight is entirely up to you."
If he had been drinking something, he would have certainly chocked up on it. "Well, alright." He didn't even look at the menu and motioned for the waiter to approach their table. He ordered the same for both of them and returned his attention fully back on Stevie. "So, what were you up to today?"
"I spent hours searching for something to wear tonight. You know, because all I had with me was my handbag. Although, I'm surprised I didn't get lost a thousand times!"
"Surely you've been around London a few times?"
"More than a few and I would go out by myself, but someone wouldn't be far from me, or at the hotel, so it's safer that way. Now you're just kind of like, right, which turn did I take at this stop?"
Harrison was listening to her speak, smiling to himself. He could listen to her forever, she looked adorable rambling like that. "And is this what you've purchased?" He asked, looking at her dress.
"Mhm. I hope it's alright?"
"You look beautiful." Saying she looks beautiful and saying her dress is lovely are two different things you smartass, he cursed himself silently.
"You make me blush."
"Good."
"No it's not!" Stevie put her hands to cover her cheeks.
The waiter returned, bringing their wine and food, giving Stevie some time to make her embarrassment disappear. They began to chit chat about all kinds of things, nothing too serious making its way into their conversation. After the empty plates were taken away, Harrison asked for a refill, which Stevie wasn't sure about, but decided not to say anything after all.
"You're right, the food is amazing."
"Told you. Desert?"
"No, thank you. I have stage clothes to fit into next month!" She joked, having a sip from her glass.
"They make an incredible chocolate cake."
"No."
"We can share."
"As much as I would like to, really no. I can't. It will go straight to my hips."
"Are you sure? Because I'm ordering for myself."
"Go ahead."
He shrugged and called the waiter again. "You're going to regret your decision."
"When my corset zips up easily, no I don't think I will."
God, it looks so good, she said to herself, once the desert was brought and Harrison caught her glancing at it. "Come on, just have a taste."
"No."
"Are you always this stubborn?"
"Yes, I am."
He laughed, slicing off some of the cake with the spoon. "One bite? Look, there's barely anything on it!"
"Well, okay..."
Harrison leaned over the table and brought it up to her lips, as she opened them and then closed around the spoon, taking a piece of the cake into her mouth. She even closed her eyes for a second, savoring the taste. "And?"
"It's too good, but no more!"
"Okay! This was our deal."
They finished another glass of wine and it was getting late. It was initially Stevie who asked Harrison out to dinner, but he wouldn't let her pay. Once he took care of the bill, Harrison called his driver and informed to have the car running as they were walking out of the restaurant.
"I had a really nice time." Stevie said, as she leaned her head on his shoulder without thinking.
"It was a pleasure."
The wine loosened them both up and there was obvious tension between the two. He placed his hand on her thigh and she didn't move away, putting her hand over his.
"You know I'm married."
"I also know you're in love with another man who's not your husband."
"Maybe you know too much."
Not another word was said until they arrived at Stevie's hotel. Harrison climbed out first, holding the door for her. "May I walk you up to your room?"
"Okay." She nodded and felt his hand on her side.
The elevator stopped on the third floor and Stevie lead the way, stopping by the door of her room. "Will I ever see you again?"
"Probably not." She answered honestly.
"Well, then..." He said, putting his arm around her back, drawing her closer. His hand cupped her cheek, his thumb lightly touching her lower lip. He leaned in to capture her lips, as she closed her eyes, clasping her hands around his neck. She felt his tongue asking for entrance and she opened her mouth, moaning, as he was easily winning the battle for dominance. He pulled away from her slowly after a moment, simply saying... "Goodnight."
He took her breath away with the kiss and she stood, torn between grabbing and dragging him inside of her room, and saying goodnight and letting him go.
