The morning came with the hot sun burning my eyes as I walked through the garden behind the mansion, admiring the flowers and their floral smells that promised a great day ahead.
Plucking each and every one, I reached Poppy holding onto a bouquet of flowers, I mainly went for sunflower, lavender, poppy trying to give it that rainbow them, though the opals stood out.
Glad that I haven't seen him this morning, although a part of me missed seeing him, though I just could look at him and not feel a burning shame for letting him exploit me like that, without my consent!
Admit it. It felt good, and my mind prompted, making me roll my eyes.
"Lovely morning, miss?" she chirped, not looking up at me, I kneeled down next to her, watching her as she skilfully dug a hole and placed an uprooted flower in.
"It is."I said with a sigh. The warm wind now brushes my face and causes my hair to cover and tickle my face.
"There's just something about the flowers that I love." She said, examining the flower she had just planted. It's blue petals with a shade of white, so mesmerizing.
"What, if I may ask." Watching her as she pressed down hard onto the soil surrounding the flower.
That's when she turned to me and smiled,"Look at the flower and tell me what you see."
Brushing my hair, I leaned closer to the flower, loving the smell of grass and the smell emitting from the sweet yet fragile plant.
As the wind rustled past us again, it danced in it.
"It looks so free and lively." I said, swaying left to right as though to bask in the sunshine but also to take pleasure in the wind.
My throat suddenly constructed , for in a way, this flower seemed to resemble me.
My eyes began to cloud as I thought of all those years, of me living my life at my own whim and like this flower, I would try to tackle every situation I was faced with and always try to succeed, hell I just led a simple life to a simple means.
I avoided trouble like the plague, rumung as far away and keeping to myself, I guess it's more of a survival mechanism I have had all those years.
I'm not taking something unless I really earned my keep.Turning to her, she had a mirthless look, taking my hand in her and giving it a tight squeeze.
"With all due respect, this world is not for you." She said, earning her a quizzical look from me, "I saw it the moment they brought you here."
I didn't respond, allowing her to state the obvious.
"Like so many girls, you were dragged into a situation you had no control of." searching my eyes, I could only nod.
She then cupped my cheek,"Child, I refuse to let you rot in here."
Taken a back by her, "But why would you do this.?"
"You remind me of my son, innocent, but he had a strong heart, and he had so much ambition." She smiled to herself in melancholy.
"I loved him for That." Her voice breaking that I placed my hand behind her back to comfort her, "which is why I had to let him go and have a better life than this; as a mother letting go of your only child is so painful, but I had to." She whispered the last words as a tear fell down her face.
She looked down at her lap as she played with the petals. looking back up at me, a determined look now replacing the saddened expression she had earlier.
"I'm going to get you out of here, just like I did with my little boy." Liking at me teary-eyed, I lifted my hand to wipe at her cheeks and kissed her hands, touched by her determination to save me. A stranger.
