Minju POV

Being a student isn't easy and it never was (haha). So then, because my siblings are always so noisy at home and I have so much work to do, I'll get a coffee and finish it somewhere else. It's just a lot easier to concentrate that way. When classes finish I'll just go somewhere and get all my work done.

Even so, I always find my mind wandering to everything but homework. I go through so many things and zone out, and I always wonder what other people think I'm doing. I don't know, maybe they think, "What is that girl doing? Is she slacking off?" I really hope people don't do that, but I bet that's what it looks like I'm doing. A lousy student with a massive stack of paper right in front of me.

And like, I'm trying. It's not that I'm not. Chase your dreams, not me, she said, and that was one thing that I've always remembered no matter what after one year, three years, and almost five years now. I've never forgotten; and I never will. I might zone out, but I get my work done and I get it done well.

"HEY!" A voice jolts me out of my thoughts, for the nth time already. I'm walking down the street to the cafe I usually go to before heading somewhere else, but this time I'm with Wonyoung. "Did you even hear what I've been saying for the past ten minutes?" She angrily demands of me. Welp, I can't help that my mind wanders too far sometimes.

"Sorry, Wonyoung, I was just thinking of something. What were you saying?" She probably isn't going to reply to me because she's mad I didn't listen, but to my surprise, she actually repeats what she said. "I SAID, while you weren't LISTENING, that Yena unnie wants to set you up on a blind date!" I blink in horror. "What??" Um, no.

"Yena unnie says that most of us have someone to talk to as more than friends, and that you probably need someone... She says you need to make more friends and stop being so quiet. She also says that because you're a college student and you're super busy, you should still make time for others," Wonyoung finishes. And she has a valid point. I do live alone but I see my friends pretty often. But still. No. Nah uh. Not happening. Not in this lifetime, at least.

"Um, can you tell Yena unnie for me that I'm thinking about it?" Wonyoung shakes her head. "Nope, do it yourself unnie!" There's a reason I don't want to, and that's because Yena's going to come up with endless reasons to try to convince me. And who knows what'll happen then.

"Um okay," I huff. "How bout let's just focus on getting something to drink, huh?" I open the door to the cafe. It's getting pretty cold for November, honestly and I feel like it could snow any day. That's surprising, but well. "Okay," says Wonyoung. "I know what I want to get, what about you?" She just wants to talk, because she knows really well what I have in mind.

"I'll have a small latte, and..." I turn to Wonyoung. "And I'll have a, uh, also a small latte?" She finishes. We stand in line behind a bunch of people. It's a pretty popular cafe and the line is always pretty long to get the stuff. But it's bearable, because it's nice and has a really cozy feel to it.

"So, how's stuff going?" I ask Wonyoung to kill time. "Yena's suggesting I go on a date, but what about you?" To my knowledge, Wonyoung isn't seeing anyone... yet. Not that I know of, and she tells me everything. We're good friends. We were study buddies when we were in high school and her grades were always super good, thanks to, well, me. Perks of having a friend who's a couple years older than you, because then they'll always be able to help out.

"Um, it's okay? I mean I'm good. I'm busy, I don't think I have time to date," Wonyoung dryly responds. Alright. Funny how she thinks I'm not busy and that I have time to date. High school is tough, but she's a good student and I'm sure she's doing fine.

"KIM MINJU!" The barista yells over all the noise. She's holding two cups in her hand and squinting, presumably, through the crowd as if she recognizes my name. I don't know, maybe she does. Maybe I have a few classes with her, but I don't know. She's a little too far away for me to see.
