I walked up to the two before I joined in with them in the regal dance. I may have not been fitted for it, and I certainly never knew how it is like to use most of the skills for them in battle, but I at least could know their dance.
One thing I didn't expect was the bat joining in, swirling around and mimicking our movements while still flying.
All in a circle, separate from each other, twirling with the beat, and moving with each other. Step by step, one with the tempo, small room for error, yet it was so entrancing and hard to stop.An hour had passed before the music stopped, as did we. We stood in our postures for a few moments, a leg in front of the other and our right hand in front, before we all let up the stance and a unanimous smile was upon the three of us.
It felt...calm. Fitting, I suppose. After a talk with the Dark Curse, learning of the Dark Phantom more, and the properties of...this whole world. I've already accepted that one day I'll move on to the next place to take the position of the Sage. I may not have the knowledge as the Sage did, as she lived here, but I will do my best to keep balance, wherever I go.
"So, we have a decision, huh?" I smiled a bit.
"I made my decision long ago," Holly replied. "Being a princess is only a step. You must start from the beginning, as a small petite cat, and work your way up the hierarchy." She looked at her hand and I could feel a little bit of remorse in her heart.
"That's one way of putting it." I ignored it, as I didn't want to put attention to it.
"It's just a process of growing," Jianne spoke. "There's not much more to it."
"You'd guess so, but you kinda balance out."
"It doesn't matter to me," Holly giggled. "I just have someone in my mind a lot."
"Your boyfriend, Proti."
"It's obvious to people who know us, I knew he was hiding his self first, after all. His teeth and scars were too obvious, after all. Especially his pupils, thin like the side of a coin, and the blue energy around it."
"I didn't pay much attention to it, and I'm sure Sav didn't know about it."
"He's an ally, after all."
"Exactly. He reacted to the Bat Charm fairly quickly, in any case."
"It's all the wait," Jianne sighed a bit. "After all, your training switch was immediate after the Thief was done."
"Yeah...gotta admit to that one."
"It's late. We can continue tomorrow, defeating actual monsters and all."
"Alright," Holly nodded, smiling, before looking at me. "You coming too?"
"Not yet," I sighed slightly. "I'll be staying out for a bit longer."
"Get a good sleep then!" The two princesses went inside of the inn afterwards.
I went to Dominic and felt his scales for a moment, before I went to try my traversal method for long-distance travel.
My first idea is actually flying using my human body, which isn't an option. My Elf and Thief thirds kept conflicting with my ability to hover at a high altitude, so I decided to become a bat, since I have Bat Tornado to help me.
It was somewhat hard to see, but I could see the outlines of objects around me, thin white outlines. It wasn't long before I popped out of being a bat into a regular human. Around a minute could I see in bat vision and have bat physics, flapping wings and hanging upside-down from claws alone.
That's my best option, in any case. If I could somehow extend the time I could stay as a bat by 500,000 times, then I'll be good.
I'll need to train this aspect...
The best course of action is to train it with time, while the Phantom is still around. This dream was different than the rest.
This time, I dreamt of a space.
An empty space, holding three colors - white, black, and grey. It kept blending and splitting itself.
It wasn't really a dream at first, but I went to a spot in the dream where it seemed like a midpoint - a completely grey spot of color with black and white pouring out of it, and I saw an alternative reality, or the same reality...I couldn't tell anymore, after taking this new form.
I was sleeping against a white horse with long hair, crossed eyes, and demonic horns. Seemed easygoing, as well, with a regal saddle.
Her name I already knew after seeing her: Reina.
She fought through many battles with us, yet I remember never meeting her, and yet at the same time, meeting her and saving her from a hoard of goblins - all before we met Guard Petri to give her our letter from the mayor.
Has everything blended? Am I seeing two realities?
Or has everything I known changed ever since I took the oath and changed who I am forever?
I couldn't tell.
The same events I remember well. Everything went exactly as it should have, in both lines, yet something was off at the same time.
It's as if the timelines merged.
Maybe there's even something added...
