It's funny, isn't it?
Funny how we look at the stars above and admire them for their brightness, for the light they are able to produce even amongst the endless darkness surrounding them.
Funny how we believe in their existence and purity so unconditionally, despite the fact that we will never come close enough to them to witness their impurities, much less ever touch them ourselves.
Funny how we live on a lie, admiring stars for their beauty and light, without realizing that most of them are only remains and remnants of stars that have long been dead.
The sun is also a star.
A star that has been praised throughout ancient history for being the giver of life, the guide of lost souls, the salvation of man.
And yet, we seem to worship this star so reverently that we forget it is also dying, ever growing closer to the day it will be unable to continue shining its light, and will be forced to go dark.
They say that the darkest nights produce the brightest stars.
But they also forget to mention that the brightest stars are the ones that are on the brink of death.
Even the sun, our ever shining light, must one day succumb to the darkness.
