Side Story 1

The name is Felix Wallas.

I'm working on the magic tower when my friend, Eloise came.

I thought she was here to see me because it's been a long time when we saw each other but it's not.

"She has accepted your marriage proposal so why are you so mad?!" Eloise said

"Eloise, I don't want to fight with you"

"Oh come on, Felix! You should tend to her" she's being persuasive as always.

"But I am"

"No, you're not- argh!" She let out a frustrated groan then move closer to me.

"You're doing this for me, right?" I nodded.

"Then please be nice to her. I will need her" I'm starting to hate the young lady of the Duke's family.

Ever since, all that Eloise do is talk about her and I'm tired of hearing the same thing over and over.

"I don't understand why you need her. I'm here"

"Yes but she will be useful. For my plan, our plan."

"I still can't understand-"

"The young lady of the Duke's family is here" I was interrupted by the knight.

"Perfect! You should meet her" Eloise smiled.

Ugh as if I would want that but I have no choice to just do it because Eloise said so.

I met with her annoyed.

Time went by and I'm with her again. Let's just say that I was shocked with her new behaviour that I've just learned.

"Then tell me. What do I have to do for you to like me?" I was shocked by what I just heard.

On what lengths are you willing to go, my lady just for me to like you?

I'm not expecting that she would do it. Poisoning the crown prince.

They dance greatly and people would think that they're a great pair. It ruined my mood.

Then I saw her walking to the table I pointed but what took her so long? All she has to do was get the glass of wines.

Don't tell me she's planning on giving it to him in front of this crowd? I can't believe it she's so stupid.

In the end she managed to do it but there was something that I felt when I saw her being drag away with fear in her eyes. An unfamiliar feeling then the next thing I know, I can't move.

I heard that the Emperor is very furious by what has happened to his successor and changed the royal knights.

The duke has not been seen once after the incident. Some people say that he has abandoned her daughter while others say, he's suffering from humiliation and can't get out.

After a month of not seeing her, I saw her brothers and it seems that they're very tired. Probably from trying to prove her innocence. So I decided to see her.

Once I got close to her, I barely recognize her. Her body is full of wounds and she has been skinnier that almost her bones started showing. She looks hurt.

I can't get my expression straight since I'm the one who put her in that kind of position.

I'm the one who inflicted pain on her.

I'm not sure on what kind of expression is visible in my face but I can see her body trembling.

I offered her the poison which she drank.

I'm thankful to what you did but it's over now.

You don't need to suffer anymore. 

Once I got back, to my surprise, Eloise is waiting for me.

"What are you doi-"

"Did you save her?" She cut me off.

"What... are you talking about?" Did something happen?

"Adelaide, the lady. You went to her today, right? Did you save her?" She's worried.

"What do you mean-"

"Just answer my question! I heard that her punishment will be execution so tell me, did you save her?" You mean from her agony? Yes, I did.

But to answer your question..

"Why would I do that?" She scoffed as if she couldn't believe me.

"You! How dumb could you possible be?" It looks like she's about to cry.

"What the heck are you talking about?"

"You don't like me" I raised a brow. Okay, now I'm offended.

"You don't get to decide my feelings-"

"No! Just listen to me!" She cut me off again.

"I used a potion on you... from a long time ago" she continued.

Potion? From a long time ago? What does it mean? As if I can't let the words out, I'm starting to feel uncomfortable.

"...What kind of potion?"

"I-it's a kind of potion that would brainwash the people who has consumed it... I used it to manipulate you.. t-to make you think you love me and to make you follow what I want" I hate the fact that guilt seems to be eating her up.

"Why would you do that!?" All my life, I've been used?

"Its not me-"

"Then who?!"

"Papa!" A moment of silence happened as she remained quiet and I try to process the situation.

I know the Viscount and Eloise doesn't have a good relationship with each other so I know the best that what her father wants, she will do the opposite. However, why did they join forces to control me?

"So how can you tell me that the person I truly like was not you but her?"

"Because I saw the way you look at her, the way your face suddenly lights up, everything"

"Just by that?"

"Yes! Yes... I-I just know it"

"Remind me again, why are you telling me all of this? Why now? What has changed?"

"Because I want you to be happy with the person you're truly in love with. You've always been there for me because of the potion but I think it's about time I set you free"

"Bullshit!" Now I can't hide my contempt.

"So you're feeling guilty now?" I feel like doing some terrible things.

"....y-yes, it was guilt" she looks down.

"But nevermind that, did you save her?"

"I..." she looks at me expecting a good answer.

"I killed her"
