Being the crown prince has a lot of limitations. Can't do this, can't do that, no freedom.

I finally left the stressful meeting room and coincidentally met Frederick Silvius, the next Duke of the Silvius Family and also my friend. We decided to have a small conversation.

"So how is lady Adelaide?" I asked him.

"I don't know, she still hates it when people call her by her nickname, Addy" he's a big softie when it comes to his sister.

They've been trying their best their whole entire life just to protect her from the dangers of the world.

"Really? Such a shame. I'd like to call her Addy again and her calling me Oliver instead of your highness, the crown prince" he eyed me suspiciously.

Fred, there's something more to it than you don't know. Something that the lady and I only know.

That is if she can remember it.

"Your highness, I know you like my sister but I won't let you date her! Never!" Such an overprotective brother.

"Oh come on! Don't be like that, my friend. Aren't I the best option for your sister? Good looking, has fortunes and title, never had an affair. What could I possibly be lacking?" I boast myself.

"Sense of humor" it stabbed my confidence to his immediate remarks.

"That hurts"

"And it can't be help"

"So you're the reason why Adelaide rejected my marriage proposal and accepted someone else!" I said as if I were betrayed by my friend.

"No! I don't even like that magician"

"Then why him?"

"Adelaide chose him" oh? She would rather get married with someone else than me.

"Now what's with your face?" What face am I making?

"You know, Adelaide can't marry you. It would create a turmoil"

"I know that, it's just-" we've been disturbed when my right hand man, Troy walked in.

He whispered to me that the things that I told him to investigate secretly has a result now.

"I apologise, Fred but it seems that my duty is calling me"

"You're always busy, your highness. I apologise for taking your time" some pleasantries are only necessary if there's eyes on us but there's nobody else here... or there is someone.

"Haha yes, then I shall see you again. Let's go, Troy"

Troy and I we're walking the long hallway when we noticed someone tailing us. We took a glance at each other signaling to move faster.

After taking a turn, we quickly hid ourselves then Troy knocked them up to make sure they wouldn't eat poison to silence themselves. They would be useful to know the people who wants to eliminate me.

"Another assassination attempt huh?"

"The report was something like this, your highness"

"Alright, let's talk to the office"

After telling the knights to take care of my uninvited intruders, we went ahead to my office. Then Troy showed me a bunch of pictures... of lady Adelaide? Together with the magician.

"Troy, this isn't what I told you to investigate" just looking at the photo of them together makes me frustrated.

"I know, your highness but it seems that lady Adelaide is now involved" I can't believe my ears.
