"I'VE been looking for you for hours!"
the rooftop door slammed open, shocking awake a previously asleep yn, who had an untouched lunch right beside them. "yeah, shit. sorry," they yawned, sitting up straight.
"what do you mean 'sorry?' you could've at least told me you were coming up here!" shinsou passed a hand through his lavender locks, settling down next to them. "i came looking for you after class but you weren't there."
"not my fault," they retorted, chewing on their now cold food. "the bathroom stalls hurt my back and desks aren't my number one go-to for sleeping. i can at least lay down here," yn motioned towards the school's rooftop.
"did you at least take notes before you left?" he timidly added a 'no, thank you' after they offered him a piece of their lunch, politely shoving it back to them.
they gladly accepted the food. "most of it, but i can probably get the rest from midori."
"didn't he scold you the last time you did-"
"shut up."
"okay."
━━━
the smell of sizzling pork struck their noses before yn and shinsou even reached the door. olive oil, onions and garlic and cumin and maybe even paprika—all bakugo signature cooking—crept out from under the dorm entrance. the occasional scrape of a pan against the stove could be heard, as well as tongs snapping together, probably trying to get a hold of the meat to flip.
"and you're sure—" shinsou interrupted, ruining the showcase of the rest of katsuki's dishes going on inside yn's head— "he won't freak out when he finds out you were out for god knows how long."
"yeah, probably," they shrugged, twisting the door knob, "i'm his favorite out of everyone, so i'm sure he won't mi-"
"yn."
"wh- hey kats!" they laughed, a nervous smile plastered on their face, "how'd you know it was me?"
"you're louder than kirishima's snores, and i mean, who else comes this late?" he glanced toward them, still keeping busy with the pan, "where were you?"
