Name: MetalWings (I'm up for a new suggestion though, I don't mind)
Naming System: I'm not the best with names and limiting myself only makes that problem more noticeable. For now I guess mineral related words.
Places like OneLook might help with that.
Generic Appearance: Phrygan tribes were typically much larger than Pyrrhian and Pantalan tribes (by a head or bit more) and the MetalWings are no different. Their scales can be any grey color ranging from so dark that it looks like black to pale as white. Their scales can also be tinted a variety of colors as well. (I'm not good with art so tell me if that description is weird) All MetalWings have a stripe running on each side of their bodies that begin from their eyes. The stripes can range from a simple stripe going from the eyes to the end of the tail, to having them consist of extravagant patterns. The simple stripe is the most common. The color of the stripe can be any color(Except for really bright colors). Their eye color can be any color except for white and black(And really bright colors).
I really like this appearance and it's not weird!
Powers: They are able to breath fire and have incredibly durable scales that can nullify most attacks though they have weaker scales around the back of the neck. The scales are also sort of fireproof, being able to absorb a couple fire attacks but won't last long and eventually melt if it's being continuously burned(Ex: Firescales would defeat a MetalWing in like 30 seconds)
I like the idea of semi-fire protection. I think you should probably tone down their toughness a bit. But do they have an additional layer of fireproof scales or is it their scales that are fireproof? If it's the latter, then that's a pretty weird picture. Something like an invisible "material" on their scales would be a better descriptor.
Very rarely they will be born with a special type of gigantism that grants them incredible strength and adds onto their lifespan from being able to live to anywhere between 220 years and 900 years. (Dragon Years. Dragon ages are strange). To give a bit of an example Darkstalker would be around the average height of an average giant MetalWing, with the smallest being around his shoulder and the largest about thrice his size.
I wrote one and a bit paragraphs about this but the drawbacks make me reconsider, so do giant dragon start out as regular or large dragonets?
This ability comes with a cost to mental stability though as if the dragon starts to push 450 their mind starts to deteriorate often forgetting events of their life or start drifting off. If they approach 700 years they start to lose their emotions and become a mindless beast that everyone must be careful around(Similar to how scavengers viewed dragons before Dragonslayer). And by rarely I do mean rarely, 25 in over 15,000 years.
Oooh, I like this drawback! It's very good at balancing the weird measurements of this mutation. Same with the rarity, it makes sense.
No natural animi, their enchanted objects have been purchased or stolen from other tribes.
Yar har har! Which other tribes have animus power though?
Continent and Location: Phrygan (Fanmade), The Attacus Island Chain(Fanmade), Pantala(Currently that weird mountain range in the northwest, but they used to inhabit the "wings" of Pantala and Beetle Lake). (They emigrated a lot over the centuries)
Cool! I wonder why they went to the mountains :o
Ruler: Prince Routhierite
Other Nobility: Princess Vaesite (There are other nobles but I haven't named them yet)
They have pretty names!
Governance: Monarchy currently
History: This is super long, sorry about that. I'll be organizing this by years as it's way more organized through the years. It might not add up properly, sorry. Oh and btw this is an AU because of fan tribes and fan continents.
