Marinette grumbled as the birds outside began to chirp loudly. She could already feel the sleep fleeing from her mind. Oh, the woes of being a light sleeper.

Snuggling into her pillow, Marinette curled into herself as she tried to get a few more minutes of sleep. As expected, her efforts were futile, and huffing in annoyance, Marinette sat up, her gaze catching on her bedfellow.

Eyes softening at the sight of her boyfriend, Marinette smiled as her eyes snagged on Jason's peaceful half-smile.

Lying back down, Marinette positioned herself in such a way that she had a direct view of Jason's face. Her eyes soaked in the sight of Jason at the angle she was looking at him from—he was practically ethereal. It was like he was a fallen angel, with a beauty so sharp it hurt.

Then Marinette's gaze fell onto his hair, and her fingers itched to just run through it. Jason's inky black hair was lighter in the morning sunlight, but it looked just as appealing. Their night-time activities had made it all the more messier, strands of hair sticking out in all directions. Marinette liked to call it stylishly messy, because, to be honest, it really did look like that.

Finally giving in to the urge to run her hands through his hair, Marinette carefully pried her fingers out from under the blanket and moved her hands towards his hair. Only when she was about to card her fingers through it, did she pause, wondering if she was overstepping an unspoken boundary.

"You can do it, you know," a sleepy voice murmured.

Marinette was sure she had never been more embarrassed in her entire life. Jason had caught her practically ogling at him like a creep.

God, how could she let herself be so careless

"I can see you panicking," Jason said with a throaty laugh. Marinette resisted the urge to shiver because now was not the time

"Honestly, Pixie," Jason said, smirking at her flustered self. "Do it."

Unable to regain her ability to speak, Marinette simply nodded and brought her fingers towards Jason's hair.

As soon as her fingers began to card through his hair, Jason let out a sigh, practically melting in her arms. Running her fingers through the silky hair, Marinette added a little more force to her fingers, noting the way Jason turned into a puddle.

He was clearly enjoying this—and probably needed the relaxation too—so Marinette continued without complaint.

"That feels good," Jason mumbled out, eyes slipping shut.

Marinette sent a teasing smirk his way as she tugged on a few strands. "I figured."

Jason only snuggled closer to her, muttering something about a sudden mood swing from a few moments ago. Marinette quickly silenced him with another soft tug.

She was barely startled as she felt arms wrapping around her waist, pulling her towards her boyfriend until there was just a sliver of air between them, enough for Marinette to continue her ministrations.

Jason buried his head into her neck, breath fanning out a little. Marinette let a giddy smile burst across her face because she was learning Jason's little mannerisms and she loved it.

"I can feel your heart beating," Jason said, and the vibrations of his chuckles ran through Marinette's entire being, making her already-racing heart beat even faster.

"Well," Marinette grumbled playfully. "You aren't helping matters."

"Aw, but you love me," Jason snickered, his hands wandering a bit.

Marinette's hands stopped running through his hair, and almost immediately he began to pout, annoyed that she had stopped.

"Pixie," he whined—he was like a child who had been denied his favourite chocolate, "Why'd you stop?"

Shooting him a smug grin, Marinette said, "If you want me to continue I suggest you control your wandering hands."

Jason didn't even look ashamed at being caught, simply smirking back at her. "Please, you love it."

His hand wandered under her (or rather, his) shirt again, large palm spanning the expanse of her stomach, but before he could go any further, Marinette slapped his hand away.

"Watch it, Todd," she ignored the puppy eyes he shot her way. "Or I'll make you regret it."

Jason ignored her—as was expected—and simply pulled her down with him, slanting their lips into a kiss.

Rolling them over until he was on top of her, Jason gave her a lascivious smirk, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

Marinette looking up into his blue eyes shoved him lightly, laughing. "You dork."

"What?" Jason protested, loudly, moving off her now that the moment was broken. "I'm not the one who ruined it."

"Keep telling yourself that, love," Marinette said, swinging her legs out of the bed they were rolling in.

Bending down to pick up some of her...clothes that she had thrown in her haste from last night, Marinette could feel a blush making itself known across her cheeks at the thought of it.

Straightening up again, Marinette turned around, only to find Jason's eyes fixated on her.

"What are you—" her eyes narrowed at him as realisation struck her. "Jason Todd!"

Picking up a pillow on the floor, Marinette threw it at the smug idiot's face, satisfied when it hit his face with a loud thump.

"Hey!" Jason said, voice muffled. "It's not my fault. I was just enjoying the view."

"Yes," Marinette said, a faux sweet smile pasted across her face. "And I was just practising my pillow throwing skills."

Jason grumbled as he finally got out of bed, walking into their shared bathroom with Marinette.

"Aw," Marinette gave Jason a grin as she saw his pout in the mirror. "Don't worry, I still love you."

Still pouting, Jason ignored her in favour of his toothbrush, aggressively putting toothpaste on it.

Giving an amused huff at his childishness, Marinette tugged on Jason's arm, turning him around.

Pulling his face closer to hers, Marinette gave him a long kiss.

It was quite a few minutes later when they pulled away. Jason's brilliant grin was pasted across his face again, and Marinette rolled her eyes at him. "You're such a child."

"But you love me," Jason grinned dopily, mood suddenly brighter.

Marinette gave a long-suffering sigh, trying to hide her smile. "I'm wondering why now."
