Prologue

It was dark, stars gleamed all around him. His blue eyes shimmered as a man in a white robe came walking in with a lantern.

"Nicholas Jones, master has requested to see you" Nicholas slid out of his white bed and onto the gorgeous white marble floor. His bare feet cold to the touch, his dark hair was messy around him.

"Yes...yes...I'm on my way." Nicholas said nervously, he had been known for causing trouble around heaven. He gently pulled on his white robe and roman sandals. He walked out of his room and opened his pure white wings, they were long and the most gorgeous pair of wings in heaven. He loved flying around, for he was an angel and he lived high up above the spirits.

He tipped off the edge and his wings carried him up. He flew up higher with each push of his wings until he came to a large white hallway that led to a large door. His wings folded gently back into his back and he walked quickly down the hallway. He knocked twice against the door and a sweet, soft voice echoed out.

"Enter Nicholas" God's voice erupted down the hall. He pushed open the heavy door and walked in, closing it behind him. "Nicholas sit" God was a big man, tall in stature and he resembled every nationality.

Nicholas walked elegantly towards the center of the room which had a single marble chair where he sat. "You have been very troublesome Nicholas" God said looking at the dark haired boy that looked about 17 years of age. Nicholas did not deny for he knew The Lord would know if he was lying. "Yes sire" he answered.

"I feel like you've betrayed me and strayed from the path I've given to you. You never do your jobs to help around and you never check on the child I put you to guard over. Therefore, as punishment I banish you from heaven for a year. In this year you must find someone to fall in love with you, in this year if you find love I will let you return but if not you will be forced to wander the earth alone. I will provide everything you need, let me advise you. The best way to find her is to attend a high school, which I have set up for you if you decide to attend. Do I make myself clear?" Nicholas had tears in his eyes, "Lord no! Please, I will never betray you again" he pleaded but God's mind was unchangeable. "One year Nicholas." And with that Nicholas felt like his wings were being ripped out of him. "Your wings will be tainted black until you return" Nicholas screamed out in pain as his white wings painfully opened wide.

He fell out of the chair and onto his knees in pain, his magnificent wings turning black. Each feather was changing to ink black. When each feather was black, Nicholas cried in pain. "My wings! My beautiful wings..." He said with such sadness that God had to turn away. "Goodbye Nicholas" suddenly a box of darkness opened up beneath him causing him to fall. He flew through the different levels of heaven.

He heard the souls and angels singing a lovely song full of remorse and sadness. He plummeted down and landed in a large pool of ice cold water. Nicholas pulled himself towards the surface, he took a deep painful breath. He shivered as he inched onto the prefect green grass around the lake. His long magnificent wings were heavy with water, he moaned as he got up out of the water. His robe was gone and his shoes, all he was left with was a pair of boxers, a white t-shirt, black jeans, a towel, and a backpack which were all placed away from the lake near a tree.

Nicholas' wings ran against the ground as he stumbled towards his clothes. He grabbed the towel and wrapped it around his freezing body and he shook out his wings and folded them back in. Then he pulled on his boxers, then shirt, and jeans. He opened the back pack and found a house key, a pair of Nike sneakers, a wallet with money in it, and school documents.

He closed the back pack after putting on his shoes. He followed the map that was in his pants pocket and led to the house that God had provided for him. He went in the house and closed the door,he then fell down and cried at his misfortune. He fell asleep right where he lay, he had no clue what he was going to do next
