Y/N's Point of View

My friend Lucy and I were at the beach for the weekend. The water was warm, however the sun was beating down on us hard. I couldn't wait to get in the ocean, since I'd heard it wasn't too cold. Lucy had went to check by herself while I put the umbrella up.

"Hey Luce, would you get my back?" I asked once we'd found a good spot to set up our chairs and umbrella.

"Sure." She squeezed some sunscreen onto her hands and rubbed it all over my back and shoulders.

I looked over to the right, as I felt someone was watching me. It turns out it was the life guard who was sitting in his seat high up. I blushed, returning a smile to him. He lifted his sunglasses and winked at me, then returning his gaze out to the ocean.

"Do you want to pass the ball around before getting in the water? It'll let the sunscreen soak in for a while." Lucy asked.

"Sure."

We walked closer to the water and unfortunately in front of the life guard's spot. I'd wished we could find somewhere else, but it was really busy today. Everybody was out having their fun pretty close to shore.

We tossed the ball around for a while until I accidentally threw it too high right up to the deck.

The fairly attractive life guard caught it, and started coming down the steps. "You guys are good."

His voice was gentle. My heart skipped a beat.

Lucy saw me staring. She snickered. "Thanks for the ball. My friend kinda had a thing for you."

"Lucy." I hissed.

He chuckled. "It's alright. What's your name?"

I felt my face start to heat up again. "Y/N." I said.

"That's a pretty name for a pretty girl. I'm Michael. Some people call me Mike." He winked. "Listen, I better get back to work. You guys have fun."

"Bye, Michael." Lucy said.

I couldn't say a word. I was still so caught up on the fact that he called my name AND me pretty. I played around with the ball in my hands, looking at the sand under my feet and biting my lip.

"Come on Miss love struck." Lucy said. "Let's go swimming. It'll cool us off, I'm starting to get hot."

I tossed the ball to her and she put it Inside her duffel bag. We went running into the water, laughing a bit when the water splashed up on our faces. Although it was cooler than expected, it still felt good since it must've been around ninety-five degrees.

We started to swim farther out. But every chance I got, I would look back to see if we were still in his viewpoint. He had this curly black hair that seemed to be . He wore sunglasses and only swim shorts on. He was seriously the most attractive person I'd laid eyes on. He was a 𝑚𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑙.

"You're gonna drown out here if you don't stop looking at him."

I shook my head, swimming further out with her. "Luce, I'll be fine. I know how to swim."

"Oh shoot." She said. "I forgot my sunglasses... do you want me to get yours while I'm up there?"

"Yeah, thanks."

I watched her swim away, and she got tinier and tinier. The water was so blue, but not clear enough where I could see the bottom. Maybe it was better that way. There was a very slim chance anything would come up and eat me. I should not have watched jaws.

All of a sudden I felt too far out. I realized how far away shore was.

And suddenly I lost the ability to tread water.
I panicked, and started flailing my limbs around. "Help!" I cried. "Please!"

My head kept dunking under the ocean as some of the waves were big even out this far.

Eventually I gave up, and started sinking below the surface.

Michael's Point of View

"Michael! She's drowning!"

I snapped out of my daydreaming and realized
Y/N was in trouble.

I mentally whacked myself on the head and grabbed a raft for her to use once I'd swam out far enough. My adrenaline was pumping through my body. We never get many people who need help at this end of the beach.

I ran out into the ocean and swam with all my might. I felt no muscle aches no matter how long I swam.

Eventually I figured out where she was and dived down to save her.

When I got close enough to her I pulled her up with all my might. Once we returned to the surface I threw her over the raft and swam further back to shore. I took a moment to catch my breath. But when I realized Y/N's lips were turning blue, I continued to swim back to shore.

People were starting to gather wondering what happened. Like I said, not much action happens on this beach.

When I got her to the sand I picked her up and put her on her back. She was still alive but it was obvious she had inhaled a lot of sea water.
I started to perform cpr on her and eventually placed my lips on hers to blow air.

Y/N's Point of View.

I felt my conscious slowly coming back to me.
When I was fully aware of everything I started coughing up water and gagging a little. This was so humiliating.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Michael asked.

I still wasn't totally sure what had happened. But without thinking I flopped my head back onto the sand since I had little to no energy.

Michael must've thought I passed out again because I felt his hands pushing on my chest. But this time when he put his lips on mine to blow, I placed my hands on his face and kissed him.

There were a few shouts and ooo's. But the best part was Michael enjoyed it, so he kissed me back with almost no hesitation.

He pulled off and smirked at me. "You're sneaky. Did you risk your life just for a kiss from me?"

"The drowning was unintentional. The kiss was a treat." I smiled.

He dove back down to keep kissing me. And I sure didn't mind.
