Chapter 9: The End

Everyone loves food. Even though it goes right through your body. People care if it tastes good but don't realize that it's 99% grease. No one cares though. In the end, nothing really matters. No one knows what's at the end of the tunnel, we just hope and pray it's something good.

Back in Purgatory...

"Who will you bring back?" Basilisk asked.
Jobe thought long and hard about it.
"I'm gonna bring back... Sophia!" He said.
Its eyes glowed red, as someone started to appear in front of him. It was Sophia. She was back, but had a horrific look on her face.
She ran up to Jobe and hugged him.
"It was so bad! I didn't get even to the bad part! It was so hot!" Sophia explained. Jobe was so happy.
"Wait, where's Nene?" Sophia asked.
"Don't worry, she isn't here anymore. She's back in the regular world. She can't hurt you again." Jobe explained.
"Now that we're over that... It's time to announce the person who lost. The loser is... Evan Garcia!" Basilisk announced.
Everyone was in shock from how quick it happened. Its snake head shot to the ground and put Evan inside of it's mouth, swallowing him whole.
"No!" Ava cried.
"Agh! What's happening? What is that! Is he dead!" Sophia exclaimed.
"Here is the next artifact." It said. The artifact came up from the ground in front of Jobe. He grabbed it. Exhausted by the night, knowing that at least one more of his friends would have to die. He raised the totem up into the sky, they were in the last layer. An hour away from prevailing in the end. 7 of them left, the 22 of them who were lost. All for this. This layer seemed like a good place for a finale. Distorted buildings everywhere. The ground had about 3 inches of water on it. Portals were opening and closing in every crevice, lightning was in the sky.
"What the hell is this place!" Sophia shouted.
Everyone was so sad, everyone they knew was dead, gone forever. There were flames shooting up into the sky, the area was orange. It looked like the apocalypse. Jobe handed the artifact to Ava to put in her bag. Then they heard screeching. They saw the back of what looked to be a man with no head, crawling up one of the distorted buildings. His torso snapped, doing a 360 to look at them. It had eyes, not figuratively... literally. It had eyes and a mouth on its stomach. Its mouth had 60 teeth, and he had a tarp covering his... area. From their view however... it didn't cover much.
"Ew! What the fuck is even going on anymore! I hate this place!" Ava shouted. The torso man, or actual name the Mapinguari screeched at them. They ran into one of the distorted buildings, they didn't want to see where the portals on this layer lead to however so they didn't go into them. Jobe and Micheal stood in front of the door, blocking the Mapinguari from getting in. He thrusted himself at the door, trying to break it.
"What the hell do we do, we can't stay at this door forever?" Michael exclaimed.
"Uh I don't know guys but, where did Isabell go?" Bella asked. "Did she come here with us?" Ella asked.
"I don't remember..." Jessie said.
She touched on her pocket where the nameplate to control Isabell was. It, of course... not being there anymore. "Where's the metal thing with Isabell's name on it?" Jessie asked.
"Oh my God, that bitch from the last layer took it from you when y'all were in a trance!" Ava said.
"Oh no, I forgot about that."
"What the fuck happened when I was gone?" Sophia asked in awe.
"Oh, girl... a lot happened when you left." Jessie said.
"Yeah, we'll explain everything to you when we get out of this place." Micheal said.
The banging on the door suddenly stopped. They then started hearing another noise coming from outside. The Mapinguari was screaming. Jobe and Micheal peaked through the door's gap, opening it slightly so they could get a view of the outside. They saw Isabell ripping the Mapinguari apart, the last artifact being in his mouth. She grabbed it and grinned, making eye contact with Jobe and Micheal.
"Give me my artifact or I'll kill all of you right now!" She yelled. "Give it to me!" She demanded. Then he remembered what he had seen in the vision he had earlier. "Okay." Jobe shouted.
"Can you give me the Envy Artifact Ava?" He asked.
"No Jobe, we need these to escape!" Ava exclaimed.
"Ava, give it to me. I have an idea."
Ava exhaled in annoyance as she took the bag off of her back and dug through it to get it. She handed it to him,
"Don't make me regret this." She said.
Jobe went outside with the artifact, being careful, and making sure not to get too close to her. He tossed it to her, and she caught it, She turned backwards, and put the two artifacts she had on the floor beside her. She stretched her arms out on either side of her as the skin and bone on them stretched to the artifacts. She was absorbing the energy from her artifact, and using it to absorb energy from the gluttony artifact. Everyone came outside, watching the catastrophe that was about to happen. The arm she was absorbing the energy from the gluttony artifact from started to burn, just like Jobe had seen in his vision. Then she started to burn as the energy flowed back into both totems. She was now on fire, she burnt to a crisp as Jobe grabbed the 2 artifacts from the ground.
Everyone was so happy that they were now gonna be able to leave, but as Jobe put the artifacts in Ava's bag, a voice echoed through the whole last layer of Purgatory. It was a deep intense voice that you couldn't miss.
"I'm here. Did I miss anything?" Mortemo asked.
