Chapter 3: Catching idiots

General POV

Character: Montana

Time: 1200 hours PH Local Time

Montana and the 5th fleet, alongside Devil Dog(now introduced as Alex), and Dr. Stra- I mean, Dr. Destiny had been deployed to the Philippines after an unidentified ship of unknown origin was spotted in the PH/Mistral area. Currently the group of kansen were interrogating some Filipino fishermen who were out at sea when the ship came in.

Montana: *interrogating local fisherman* So, what did this ship look like?

Ph Fisherman: Um.....I remember it resembling.... ano ang prangkisa na iyon.....ang mga HALO na ships.

Montana: Ok, any name-plates? Any numbers on the hull?

Ph. Fisherman: Wala po.

Montana: *sigh* Well, thanks anyway.

Montana then rendezvoused with Dr Destiny, Alex, Cleveland, Lincoln, and Pearl.

Montana: Any luck?

Alex: They all say that a HALO ship passed through the area, but no one saw anything to ID the vessel.

Lincoln: *sigh* Ok, but are there any common themes?

Cleveland: It is at least the length of Orochi, with 5 thrusters in the back, apparently it has over 100 guns.

Montana: Yeah, that's pretty common in HALO ships. Anything else?

This answer just got a consecutive no out of everyone. Defeated they made their way back to the safety of their fleet. We now see Montana staring at a list of supernatural items of interest in the area.....of which there were a lot of.

Montana: Where do we start? *flicks through list of items*......ok 50 items in the general vicinity but only 5 are active and usable and among them only 2 aren't guarded heavily.....but the Emerald isn't exactly accessible, alright I know where to go.

Thanks to the process of elimination Montana determined that if whoever was on that ship is going to steal something it was going to be the relic of knowledge. So the entirety of the 5th fleet moved to guard the area with aerial sweeps from Enty and Montana's aircraft alongside Strider Squadron who decided to tag along.

Timeskip

Current time: 0000 hours PH Local

It had been over 3 days of nonstop patrols and so far, nothing. DL was starting to get a little impatient.

DL: Montana, are you sure we can catch them the Combat Air Patrol's coming back in, we don't see them.

Montana: That's why Strider Squadron's here, they still have a lot of fuel and are patrolling the area while the CAP gets a resupply.

Unknown to them and Strider Squadron, something managed to get into the vault, an alarm sounded as the vault's door was blown wide open.

Lincoln: These guys got into the vault! Strider get ready to make intercept course, all carriers launch all available interceptors we've got company!

Montana: Damn, so proud.

At the vault Alex is shown shooting at the intruding aircraft with his A-10's gun as his opponent attempts to flee. But he also managed to hear fragments of an argument.
