It was late at night and Harry couldn't sleep. He woke up and left to the kitchen, maybe a midnight snack would make him sleepy.
He got to the kitchen and found someone was already there. "Nightmares?" Mirabel asks. A single lantern was lit in the low light and she was holding a glass of milk in her hands.
He nodded. "Same," Mirabel explains drinking her drink. Harry walks up by her and Casita pours him some milk in a glass and slides it to him.
"I just.... Do you get nightmares?" Harry asks. Mirabel nodded. "Always have," she answers. "About what?" He asks. "My family, not being able to protect them, getting forgotten, left behind, most recently though was from the graveyard or the obscural coming back and killing everyone, tonight it was about my birth mother getting killed," She explains.
Harry takes a moment before asking. "How? How do you deal with them?" He asks. "Well I tell myself. It's a nightmare, they can only hurt you or become real if you fear them. It's what Tio- I mean papi- used to tell me when I was little," Mirabel shrugs .
Harry's quiet though when he said. "But mine was real," he explains and Mirabel looks at him to elaborate. "I my dream, I wasn't just watching it, I was the one attacking and I liked it, I wanted to continue doing it, and I wanted him to suffer, but... it didn't feel like me at the same time though it did," Mirabel listens patiently to him.
"Has this happened before?" She asks. Harry nodded his head. "During the summer before our fourth year I had dreams of this old house, of a decayed hallway, and sometimes I'd have nightmares you were there and you'd be humming this song, and your mark would be glowing," Mirabel was listening intently now as Harry describes this dream. When he was done Mirabel held his hand tightly and asks.
"Harry? What song was I humming?" Harry takes a moment to think and then he copies the tune. "And did I ever say anything to you?" Mirabel asks. "Yeah you always said Hola Nigini," Harry answers.
Mirabel looks deep in thought at this and said. "Harry that happened," she said. "What?" Harry asks. "Harry when I was in Moldy's clutches I would hum a song, and Nigini is Moldy's snake. A snake attacked Arthur, Harry.... I think you share a mind with a snake," she said.
"What? Mirabel that's crazy," Harry said. "I know it is, but Harry these dreams are happening in real life. Here come with me," Mirabel took Harry to her room and calls out.
"Book on Oclumency," A book flew from the shelf and she opens it reading the first page than turning to a few chapters.
"Harry look whatever is happening, I think, and here me out, I think you're sharing a headspace with Voldemort," Mirabel said. "What? Mirabel that's crazy how would that even be possible?" Harry asks her. "I don't know for sure, but I do have a way to check," Harry raises a eyebrow.
"Okay there are two options. We can tell Dumbledore about this, or keep it a secret which I personally think is a stupid idea," Mirabel explains. Harry thought carefully about the options. Dumbledore hadn't even looked at Harry since last year, but he would also know more about what to do.
"We'll tell Dumbledore," he decided. Mirabel shrugs her shoulders and says. "Alright, we leave for school in the morning. Try and get some rest, if you want you can crash on one of my couches," Mirabel offers. Harry smiles gratefully and says. "I'd like that,"
Time Skip
School had been back in session for two months now. Mirabel and Harry told Dumbledore what was happening who agreed with Mirabel's theory and had Snape go through extra occlamency lessons to help Harry defend his mind.
Meanwhile Mirabel found herself rather bored. Since she wasn't allowed to do tutoring anymore she had a lot more free time than she usually did and she didn't know what to do with it.
