I came to live with my grandparents for the summer with my little sister, after my entrance exams that had been in the beginning of summer. I got a small room which walls were covered with old newspapers and portraits, the room smelled like old books and strong perfume. It was raining outside and I could hear the raindrops that hit the roof. I sat on a old broken chair in front of desk i was trying to paint something while petting my grandparents cat.
"Parisa!" i hear my grandma calling me from downstairs so I go check on her. In kitchen i see grandma waiting for me . "I got something for you." She said joyfully and handed me a letter that had my name on it, I instantly knew what it was so I called my sister to kitchen "Noelia come". I open the letter and start reading"we are happy to inform that your your application to our academy has been accepted. We assume that you will join us next fall, when we will tell you your roommate and other necessary information related to studying here. we are looking forward to meeting you.
-Londons Academy of arts and science"
I was so excited that the next night I couldn't sleep and I just hoped that the summer vacation would end sooner.
The rain had stopped and only the footsteps of pedestrians could be heard outside. I went to get water from the kitchen, on the way downstairs every plank of the floor creaked when I stepped on them. It was cold in the kitchen and the smell of chamomile tea floated in the air, only light came from the street lights behind the window. Suddenly I felt someone tugging on my sleeve I turn around and see my little sister Noelia, she was seven years old at the time, she was a very small girl, her curly dark brown hair was always messy, her eyes were light blue like mine and our mom's. "Can you give me some water too?” She asked in a squeaky voice "Of course you can have water.” I whispered because I didn't want to wake my grandparents. After we had drunk our water I carried Noelia upstairs and I took her to her room "Can I sleep in your room?" She asked and looked me with puppy eyes "okay but just this once." I answered and carried her through the dark hallway through to my room and tucked her in my bed, then I walked to my desk then I started to paint. "Do you promise to always be with me?" She asked, I was silent for a while until I turned in my chair and answered "Yes, I promise.".
