I had made my decision. I would take over the village. If all went well I'd gain willing test subjects, wanting to do anything for their god. Oh even the the thought of such a possibility got me excited in more ways than one; But what if it didn't go well? I was fairly confident that I could take on all the villagers if it came to it, but hopefully I wouldn't need to do that. I placed my scalpel on the metal table next to a clean white bench which a test subject was laying on. My first ever test subject. I was so careless back then, so naive. I expected my first try to be a success, well you know how that went. Lycan. I kept making the same mistake over and over again hoping, longing for a different outcome. But that's not what this chapter is about is it? You want to know how I took over the village. I didn't even know the full extent of my powers, I was quite literally (no pun intended) winging it. But I at least had the sense to wait and analyze my opponent. The current leader was a dick, an overzealous piece of shit you could say. He was scheduled to do a speech later on in the day but was constantly surrounded by armed guards and if an attacker got past them he was armed with pepper spray which he also periodically used on anyone who disagreed with him; Fun. I peacefully snapped the neck of one guard (a large, burly guy) and used that magnificent instant death touch on another. The others recoiled in fear and that sick bastard didn't even notice! I sneaked up behind him, (no-one told him I was there obviously, they just watched with wide eyes, pitying me, thinking I'd fail like all the others) time seemed to slow down as I reached my hand out towards his back. The particles in my hand didn't connect with any of the particles in his skin, flesh or ribs and I was able to grab his heart and rip it out of his body with ease. He flopped over like a limp fish, writhing, choking on his own spit and blood as I thrusted the hand that held his heart high in the air as a symbol of victory. Those pathetic mortals kneeled before me, stunned into silence. "I am Mother Miranda and I run this village!" I shouted, tightening my grip around the heart, crushing it and letting the blood trickle down my arm as I spread my wings out behind me just to further hammer in that I was someone not to be messed with. "All hail Mother Miranda! All hail Mother Miranda!" They screamed, worshipping me as if I was their god. I chuckled breathily, letting everything that had happened sink in properly. I had really done it. The village was mine and so was everyone in it, all pawns in my game of chess. Of course I'd dispose of them all once Eva was manifest; You don't want or need a cult following to be a good Mother after all.
