Isel's POV:
I walk over to the workshop where Foxete is. Illoha's life is miserable, but Foxete is the last thing she has; even if they are arguing. I walk into the room. Recently, Foxete has actually been quite nice to me. She seems to try to see the best in me. Whether that's from me altering her emotions as an empath or her actually caring about me I suppose for debate.
"Hello, Foxete." I grin at her. I know what I'm going to do. Steal Foxete from Illoha so she's all alone. It'll probably be easy too. Illoha causes her so much pain...
"Hey Isel." Fox stops typing on her computer and looks up with a small smile, "How are you?"
"I'm alright." I sigh, "How are you? I heard you and Illoha arguing."
Her smile fades, "Yeah, Illoha has been... harsh." She sighs.
"How so?" I ask her keeping up my 'sweet' persona.
"She keeps pointing out my flaws. I know I have them, but..." she shakes her head.
"She shouldn't point them out." I sit next to her.
She shuts her laptop and faces me, "Yeah! I mean I know that I don't really understand what it's like to be in a healthy relationship, but nor does she."
I laugh, "The only healthy relationship she had was the one with Beema and that was before she fell in love with her."
Fox looks down at her feet.
"What?" I ask.
"She brought up soulmates." Fox sighs, "Saying Beema was hers."
"Soulmates aren't always in a romantic sense, Foxete" I reassure her, "But it seems as though Illoha sees it that way."
"So do you believe in soulmates?" She asks.
"It's a common belief on our planet." I shrug, "Yes I do, why?"
"What is a 'soulmate' then?" She sighs.
"I believe it's the person who saved your life." I shrug.
She thinks on that. "If she thinks Beema is her soulmate... then...." She hesitates, "Nevermind."
"What?" I ask.
"It's possible to have a platonic soulmate?" She asks.
"Very much so, yes." I nod, "I believe that my best friend Mika is mine. He saved me from the strict family life."
"If they died would it heavily impact you?" She looks at me slightly.
"I'd think so." I nod.
"I think I know who my soulmate was." Fox smiles a bit.
"You think they're dead?" I ask.
"He was the best there was. Loved him like a brother." She laughs.
"Who?" I smile.
"Acron." She grins, "He died... almost a year ago." She she shakes her head, "Wow... it's been awhile."
I scoot closer to her, "Hey, at least he's watching over you now."
"Yeah. Telling me not to make any bad decisions." She chuckles.
I scoot closer, "Mhm."
She looks over fully at me to see how close I've gotten. I can feel her tense.
"I have to go... I'll talk to you later Isel." She stands up.
I grab her hand and she jerks around quickly. Her heart rate sped up. I think she's onto me. "I'm always here if you need to talk to someone." I sweet talk.
"Yeah. Thanks." She nods and walks out of the room hurriedly.I need to be smoother next time.
Foxete's POV:
Stupid Fox! For a split second I let myself imagine.... Don't even think about it again. You're with Illoha and this will work out. I wander down the hallway until I crash into someone.
"Oi! Watch where you're going Fox!" Dex rolls his eyes.
"Yeah. Uh. Sorry" I say quickly.
His expression softens, "You alright?" He asks.
I hesitate before answering, "No..." I whisper.
"Wanna talk about it?" He asks soothingly.
I just nod and he hugs me."It'll be alright. Everything will be alright."
