~Bella's pajamas~

The next morning Bella sat at the kitchen table in her pajamas and watched Adele frying eggs and talk to someone on the phone.

"Shame on you Adele Stackhouse. Shame on you." The caller said.

"Who is this?" Adele asked.

"Vamper is a perversion of humanity and you, vamper lover, are perverting our community by bringing one into the open." The caller said.

"I suggest that you hear what he has to say before you take to lynching him." Adele said.

"I don't care what sort of vagrants you keep in your own home, but when you bring a freak, an abomination, into our church and in front of our children, you will..." The caller said.

"Well, I will be at the church early if you would like to stop by and say hi. Mr. Compton's talk starts at eight." Adele said.

"You will go to hell for this." The caller warned.

"Alright! Same to you! Bye now!" Adele slammed the phone down.

"Phone's been ringing early today." Sookie observed.

"Oh, oh! Everyone is excited about meeting the town vampire tonight. I didn't hear you come in until your disagreement with Bella last night." Adele exclaimed as she brought the eggs to the table.

"You went to bed early. You didn't wanna hear me come in." Sookie added.

"Well I just thought I'd give you two a little privacy, is all." Adele chuckled and walked back to the stove.

"Am I really that much of a lost cause that you gotta pin all your hopes for me on a vampire?" Sookie asked with a raised eyebrow as Adele came back to the table with the phone in hand and sat down between them.

"But he really seems like a very nice man." Adele said.

"Well, he's not." Sookie said.

"He's not nice?" Adele asked.

"Or a man." Sookie said.

"Sookie please tell me your back." Bella said.

"Oh, goodness! Did you two have a fight?" Adele asked worriedly.

"No. Kinda. I don't think Bill and I have very much in common. He doesn't think like we do, he doesn't feel the way we do, if he feels at all." Sookie said then pierced a sausage and ate it.

"Well, I know that, if I had a chance to know somebody who'd experienced the world differently, I'd see it as a blessing and not something to be scared of. Or hate." Adele said holding the phone to her chest as it began to ring again.

"I don't hate him. I just don't want to be his girlfriend. Uh, the phone's ringing" Sookie said.

"Well, the machine'll pick it up." Adele said.

"And while that happens can we talk? Alone?" Bella asked.

"Of course, Bella. What is it?" Adele asked.

"Well...How have you been lately?" Bella asked.

"I've been good. How are you?" Adele asked.

"I've been good. The rangers are treating me well. We're supposed have a new member joining us soon. His name is Antonio, he's a fisherman, and the gold samurai ranger. He's also a really good cook." Bella said.

"That's good. How are things with you, the red one, and that vampire Eric?" Adele asked.

"Things are good between us." Bella said.
