As I took my morning walk I just had an urge to go drink coffee and read a book. Me, being the spontaneous person I am decided to go to an all new coffee shop and make it the place I would go to all the time, my own sanctuary. I usually spend my time in the library but I was getting bored with the same scenery everyday, so I was kind of excited to try this new place. When I walked in the coffee shop I noticed I was the only one there so far, I didn't really mind but I also hoped this wasn't a regular thing. I liked being by myself, but not all the time.
I searched around for the perfect spot, I didn't know whether I wanted a table or a booth so I just chose the place with the best view of the outside. I finally found a homey looking booth in the corner next to a window at the perfect place, it wasn't too dark or too bright but it wasn't dim. The booth seats were a brick red color and the table was a gray marble design.. I liked it. So I placed my book on the booth table and then went to order, I was trying to do things I normally wouldn't do but I couldn't help it, I ordered the drink I always order, a peppermint frappe. When I got my drink I went back to my booth and got comfortable with my book I didn't take off my sweater because it was kind of chilly outside and the lingering chilly air from my entrance was present.
By the time I looked up from my book it had been an hour and a half. I started to stare out the window and sip my coffee, I really liked my new spot so I didn't want to leave. I heard the bell on top of the door ring and looked up to see this beautiful girl. She only took a glimpse in my direction so I looked down at my book on the table, I kept my head down but I still kept looking at her. I watched as she ordered a peppermint frappe, then walked back to her booth and picked up a book. She began to read and sip her coffee.
While she read I stared at her, I really tried to stop but she was just so stare-worthy and it seemed as if her presence alone brightened the room. I watched as her bluish, sort of gray eyes skimmed the pages, as her pale pink lips formed around the lip of her cup and sipped her coffee. I loved the way her brownish/red hair fell in front of her face occasionally and her small hands brushed it away, wishing I could be the one to do that. I was staring so hard I didn't even notice her look at me twice with a confused frown, I probably freaked her out. David, stop staring just read your book, something. She began to stare out the window sipping her coffee, just as I had earlier.
Then she stared at me for a moment, so I looked down, but not a minute after I heard movement. I thought she was leaving but she just adjusted her clothes then sat back down and began reading again. About ten minutes later she put her book down then started to move again, she had a determined look on her face and she kept looking at me. I then realized that she was going to try to talk to me, so then I got scared because she was so pretty I would stumble over every word that I tried to say and look stupid. Finally she looked away trying to gather her things in a pile before she left them, I took this opportunity and ran out the door.
