"Shit!"

"Language! Jarvis, what's the view from upstairs?"

The voices of the other Avengers came through the tiny piece of tech in her left ear.

The other Avengers. She caught herself thinking. Marcelina Alinovia was an Avenger now.

Not officially, to the rest of the world, she had seemingly dropped off the face of the earth. It was mildly concerning how easily the Avengers we're able to hide the existence of an entire person.

Yet here she was. Seven months, two weeks, and three days ago, she was sent to murder Natasha Romanoff. Now she ate fancy cheese with her in the Avengers Tower.

She had made progress in those many months. She could now handle small touches without completely losing her grip on reality. She started spending more time with the others instead of locking herself in her room for days on end. The nightmares were still awful but had improved. Marcelina was finally becoming a person.

Except, it had been seven months, two weeks, and three days and Marcelina Alinovia hadn't spoken a single word.

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken."

"Loki's scepter must be here." Marcelina had heard bits and pieces of what went down in the Battle of New York. The real story made much less sense. "Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it."

Marcelina had heard of Strucker. She'd seen him a few times in passing when she was staying at one of the HYDRA bases. He "visited her" only a few times.

Marcelina didn't like to think about that.

"At long last." Marcelina worked on the guards. She pulled just enough life energy from one to render them immobile though not quite dead. She then threw the white ball of collected energy at a different guard.

Marcelina covered Clint while he loaded arrow after arrow. She worked with precision, Hitting and throwing guards as though they weighed nothing. Marcelina's energy flowed around her as she fought off the army of men till they were all lying on the ground, unmoving.

"At long last is lasting a little long, boys."

Another round of shots rang through the woods. Clint pushed her back behind a tree, shooting another arrow over his shoulder. "Yeah, I think we lost the element of surprise."
