New town New person

Yvonne's POV
Man I'm so scared. This new town is a lot for me to
handle. Ever since losing my parents it's been really hard. I stayed with my friend Susie until my sister reached back out to us. Gosh I bet this has taken a toll on her too. I wonder what she looks like now. It's been 3 years since I last seen her. Ever since she left me with dad things changed for the worse. But let's not think about that right now.

As the taxi pulled into the driveway, I got out and grabbed my bags heading to the front door. While heading to the door I admired her house. I guess it looks like she was doing pretty good for herself. I stood in front of her doors still kinda scared to ring the bell. I finally got myself together and calmed down. She would be happy to see me, it's been 3 years after all. After standing there for what felt like hours the door swung open. There she was.... My sister Kitanna. She was taller now and had red hair. I walked up to her and gave her a big hug.

"It's been a long time since I've seen you" I said pulling away from her. "Same thing here my little potato" Kitanna said after letting me into her house. It was pretty big for one person to have. She had a white and grey interior design. She's so good at her job man.

I walked into my room amazed at the design. There were posters of my favorite bands. She had a cassette tape and music sitting on a table that had a blue walkie talkie on it.

"I figured you'd want a walkie talkie since you and Susie would use them all the time back at home" she said sitting next to me on my queen sized bed. I admired my room and layed down.

"I know you're pretty tired from the flight and all so I'm gonna go and grab some dinner. You can stay here and get some rest. Call me if you need me, okay?" She said giving me a kiss on the cheek and ruffling my medium curly hair. "Yeah I got you" I said putting my things down.

As soon as I heard her leave I decided to put away my things first and maybe greet my neighbors with some special treats that I brought back. I took a quick shower and changed into some comfortable shorts and black tee shirt. I grabbed my cassette player and put in one of the mixtapes I used to listen to. I grabbed the treats I brought from home and headed to my neighbors house.

As I was walking down the street people around my age kept looking at me laughing hysterically. I looked at them with confusion and kept heading to the house across the street.I walked up to their house and rung the bell. I was kinda nervous. I didn't know if I should even be here knocking on random peoples door.

I slowly turned around and started to head back home until I heard the click of a door open. "Can I help you?" Someone said. It sounded like a guy but I wasn't sure until I slowly turned back around. I walked back to the door to introduce myself properly. "Yea, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Yvonne. I just moved here to live with my sister. You probably know her, her name is Kitanna" I said fiddling with my fingers while trying to keep eye contact.

He stood there for a while until he shook his head up and down. "Oh yeah I know her. Well nice to meet you I'm Mike.... Mike wheeler" he said holding his hand out for me to shake. I gladly shook it with a smile on my face. "Mike who's at the door!?" I heard a couple of voices yell. "It's our new neighbor, you guys should come and meet her!" He yelled back.

After waiting for a few seconds I hear rumbling towards the door. There in the door way stood two more people. "Hey I'm Dustin" the one with a curly mullet hairstyle said. I nodded my head at him. "And I'm Lucas nice to meet you" I nodded at him too. After just standing there awkwardly. I decided that I should maybe leave. "Well it was nice meeting you guys.... Umm do you guys go to the highschool around here?" I asked. "You mean Hawkins highschool? Yea we do" Dustin said. "Well I guess I'll see you guys on Monday then?" I questioned them hoping they become my new friends. They all nodded with smiles on their faces.

I smiled back and waved goodbye. As I was heading away from the drive way I heard Mike yell out something I couldn't make out. "What did you say?!" I yelled back confused. "I said if you want you should sit with our club at lunch! I think you would really like it!" He yelled back. I thought about it for a quick second and and put two thumbs up.

I went back home. It's 4:30 now and I'm pretty hungry. I wonder what places they have to eat around here. I could also use a movie. I grabbed my keys and headed to my car. I put the key in the ignition and left the house since Kittana wasn't back from the store yet. I drove around trying to find anything until I saw this nice Chinese place. I got out the car and grabbed my wallet. I ordered some shrimp fried rice with dumplings and egg rolls. I paid for my food and left.

While heading back to my house I noticed a van stuck on the side of the road. It was black and I guess the driver caught a flat. He looked very handsome. He had long fluffy hair. He wore this hellfire shirt and jeans. I pulled over and got out of my car. "Excuse me....do you need any help?" I asked kinda nervous. "Uuuuh yeah my van just caught a flat. Do you think you could maybe help me out ?" He asked. I was kinda scared and I think he could see that because he dusted his hands off and held out his hand. " no need to be scared sweetheart I'm not gonna hurt you. Eddie Munson or as the town calls me the freak"he said.

I reached for his hand and admired the rings on his fingers. "Yvonne...Yvonne Amethyst" I said kinda smiling not making eye contact with him. I offered him the extra tire I had in my trunk and he gladly took it. I helped him change his tire and in no time he was ready to go. He stood up and dusted his clothes off. "So are you new here or something?" He asked hoping into his van. " yeah I am. I just moved here to live with my sister." I said kinda smiling. "Well sweetheart it looks like it's getting dark you should head home" he said smirking at me. I nodded and headed to my car seeing him drive off. As I watched him leave I sat there in thought if I should ask him out or not. I know it's pretty soon but hey you never know. I might not see him again. I took the biggest risk of my life and followed him home. I know it gives stalker vibes but hey ya girl has to try. He drove into a trailer park and I slowly pulled in trying not to seem obvious. He hopped right out his van and headed inside his house.
