leaving eddie's house around 6 in the morning you notice movement in a bush, "hello?.." you call out but nothing replies, so walking to the bush you are shocked to find steve, (only knowing of him from the yearbook) "hi.." he says awkward, "i was just leaving so you know" he stands up trying to walk away "wait." he turns and looks at you "why were you peaking at eddie's trailer? you don't even live near here" he coughs and swipes his hands getting dirt off of them, "i was looking for max she's a friend of mine" "i don't know a max and she doesn't live here, so why are you really here, steve?" you say crossing your arms "how do you know my name?" shit, you think to yourself, now you'll look like a stalker. "yearbook.. but that doesn't matter im just wondering why your here at 6 at night stalking my boyfriends house-" "whoa whoa wait you and eddie are dating?"
about 3 seconds of silence until you reply yes and then dustin lucas max and robin all start walking to steve " i told you what did i tell you guys i knew they were dating, he's such a shitty lier." dustin says loudly "what?? who's lying?? what the hell are you guys doing here?" you say confused and angry "look, y/k dustin told us eddie was seeing someone and truth is none of us really believed him because he's always lying" "no i do not shitface" dustin said defending himself "anyways.. we came down here to see if it's real because i called bluff because dustin over here said you were smokin and no one in their right mind would date eddie if they were hot but i was wrong."
a few seconds pass as you take in what you hear while dustin yells at steve about him exposing the fact he called you hot when all of a sudden eddie's door slams open and he jumps off his porch, walking towards you "dustin um.. what the hell is this?" eddie says putting you behind him, you grab his hand just so you can feel safer and more protected, still shaken up by them jumping at you "eddie my lord, this is just um my other friends and us checking on you and making sure your alive, we haven't heard from you so we wanted to check anyways we gotta go bye-" dustin says quickly trying to leave but is stopped by eddie, "dude seriously what is this and why did you guys all jump at my girlfriend".
after dustin explains he's angry and pulls you to his van "eddie baby i'm sure they didn't mean harm" "yea but i don't know them and that steve dude always wants to start shit with me" eddie says angry as he drives you to your house. it was a awkward few minutes in the car but it came to a stop when you finally arrived home, you walk to the drivers side and open his door, you push his hair back as he keeps tapping the wheel obviously mad and you pull his head towards you, he keeps looking away trying to not look at you outa fear that he'll break down but you finally pull him in to look at you "i'm ok eddie, you did everything right and i'm so proud of you, i love you very much" he's breath eases and he's able to keep his composure as he tells you he loves you too, you kiss him goodbye and tell him to come see you later as you go inside.
you sit on your bed when you hear your window opening and you turn to find of all people steve entering your room, you jump up and yell at him "what the hell are you doing??" "im sorry..SHIT" he says falling off your bed on your floor, you stand over him confused as he stands up "i um..i came to apologize for earlier and to formally greet myself." "you just broke in my house??? i do not want to know what a unwelcoming hello is." you say irritated, "ha..goo-good one hey my back really hurts can you make sure it's not bruised" he says taking his shirt off before you can reply "you touch a red spot "there?" "oww yea" he says "yea it's a little red-" you say smacking it "what the fuck y/n??" " that's what you get for breaking in my house" "listen! i'm sorry i just really needed to talk to you, my friends and i are worried you don't know what your getting yourself into. " i do, and he's amazing steve." "look let me show you something then you can decide" he says grabbing your arm, your heart flutters and beats a little faster as you look at him in his eyes "just um..just make it fast"
he smiles and pulls you out of your house to the woods without speaking, he shows you a bunch of papers, you notice they are notes, notes of eddie and other girls talking, notes that date from a day ago of him flirting with some girl and asking to get together for dinner, he only has them because robin gave them to him, your eyes water as you read the notes and see what he's saying, stuff he's only said to you he's said to them. "i..i um.." you try to speak but the words won't come out "i'm sorry y/n i just wanted you to see those because you seem so sweet and caring and this just didn't feel right.. i'm no experts on relationships but my girlfriend..well ex who's now dating this stalker jon- look it doesn't matter what i wanted to tell you is just to look out for him" you stand up crying and try to walk away but steve grabs your hand and pulls you close, you want to pull away but you are so weak and your heart hurts, he pushes your hair behind your ear and wipes the tears off your face, he steps closer and kisses you.. your hearts pounding but you let it happen, when you pull back you trip on a branch and twist your ankle, you completely sob as he asks you if your ok, not standing this day being horrible anymore you just keep crying, steve pulls you in and hugs you as you cry on the floor.
"let me help you" he says picking you up, you can't walk so you try walking to a tree and fail miserably, he picks you up and carries you to your house, it's freezing but he's warm so you let him hold you as he laughs and tells you stories. "shit.." steve says approaching your house, "WHAT THE FUCK" you hear in the distance, you tell steve to put you down because you know it's eddie, you walk towards him limping as he runs up to steve trying to punch him "eddie stop!" you say holding his jacket "WHAT THE FUCK HARRINGTON? YOU CANT FIND YOUR OWN GIRL SO YOU COME AFTER MINE?" he says angry as you try holding him back "look dude i was talking to her and she fell and twisted her leg so i was just helping-" "YOUR IN DEEP SHIT" he says pushing you over trying to get to steve, you fall face first on the pavement scrapping your hands and knees, eddie stops dead in his tracks and runs to you holding your back up so you can sit up, you let a few tears out desperately trying not to but it doesn't work because it stings and you twisted your foot again, eddie is fuming and stands up and punches steve in the face as you cry and beg them to stop fighting, you try standing up but quickly fall , eddie pushes steve beside of you on the floor as he continues to punch, terrified you stop him, at this point your sobbing and shaking scared he'll hit you too , eddie snaps back and sees the fear in your eyes and tries to pull you in but you quickly back away, steve's face is bad but not horrible considering eddie didn't have his rings on (thank god) you back up as eddie desperately tries comforting you but is soon punched in the jaw by steve as you scream for him to stop, eddie now not throwing punches seeing how scared you are and taking the blows and his nose bleeds, you push steve off and scream at him to go home you pull eddie up and help him inside as best as you can trying to walk straight.
you bring him to your room and put him on the ground and you grab the first aid kit, he keeps apologizing the whole time you searched for the kit, he cries as you try helping him so he doesn't bruise, your hands are still shaky and you are terrified of eddie seeing how strong he is, "e-eddie just s-stop, i need to help you" you say trying to catch your breath from crying, he lets you finish and then checks your hand and knees, he's trying to hold back tears but can't seeing he hurt you, you seeing this makes you question the notes, because there is no way that this eddie would ever hurt you, you grab a peice of paper and a pen and tell him to write something, anything "what why?" he says confused, his eyes stare into you like a puppy, just trust me you say softly, in the messiest hand writing he says i'm sorry and i love you, the handwriting on the paper was neat and straight, that's when you knew eddie didn't write those notes, he smiles as you look at him heartbroken and you realize you have to tell him you kissed steve.
