Growing Up

And that spot he said we'd come back to,we did everyday as we played we quickly became each other's best friends. When school started it kinda kept us apart,but we found a few places to sneak away to around school and ocassionally we'd have lunch together. As school went on I helped him break his habit of getting other kids in trouble and he helped me think of what a life beyond settling for Amity's walls could be like. That spot in the field is still the most treasured one though as it's not only where we first met,and where I first gave him the nickname Tiger from all the fights,but also where we'd sneak off to meet each other an hour before school and just talk about anything and everything.

As the years went by I started to develop a crush on Peter and unknown to me for a while he returned those feelings.

Then one day when we were 15 and talking in our favorite spot while I layed my head on his chest. I noticed him staring at me with what looked like admiration.

"Peter?",I ask and he zones back in.

"Huh?",he asks.

"Why were you staring at me?",I ask with curioustity filling my voice.

He sighs knowing I'd be able to tell if he was lying or not.

"Look Sabrina I really really like you.",he says.

"You do?",I ask in a happy tone of disbelief.

"Yes I Peter Hayes am head over heels for Sabrina James the most gorgeous girl in the world who's right next to me.",he says.

"Peter,I really like you too,but I'm not the most gorgeous girl in the world.",I say setting him straight.

"Yes you are,why do you think you aren't?",he asks.

"Because I'm just,I'm just not.",I say as I look away from him.

"Sabrina you are absolutely beautiful.",he says while making me look into his deep brown eyes.

"Oh my God no.",I say with some laughter,but my laughter gets cut off by Peter attaching his lips to mine and sending me into a state of both shock and bliss.

When we pull away we stare into each other's eyes it was getting late and we had to go so got up and hugged.

"So see you tomorrow....girlfriend?",he says sounding unsure of what we were,even though he probably knew.

I laugh at him before replying. "Yes....boyfriend."

This time it was his turn to laugh.

"Goodnight Princess. I love you.",he says before turning away.

"Goodnight Tiger. I love you too.",I say over my shoulder as he turns and smiles one last time before we get home.
