I'm walking down the block to my favorite health food store.

It's chilly, but I don't mind. The sun is shining brightly and it's position in the sky tells me it's noon. There are no clouds, and just a breeze that comes on occasionally. It's not that crowded either, it being a Monday afternoon.

Today would be a great day to walk in the park, I think to myself. I laugh inwardly at my oxymoron, because a day in my life is never a walk in the park. Usually, I wouldn't go there anyway being as busy as I am. I get new jobs to do as soon as I get home usually, and surprisingly, I haven't gotten any yet but I've been back for 3 days. Maybe they're giving me a break.

I walk in the store and take a look around casually. I always check out where I am. It's in my best interest to of course because I've made so many enemies over the years, and knowing people's faces are important in my work. There are three cashiers, all of who look bored, an old lady who I've seen around allot along with three older men so far. Those types are all who come out at this time of day really, the old people. I'm walking down the produce aisle going over the list in my head ' pears, apples, lettuce'...then I see something out of the corner of my eye. A man who appeared to be going through the apples, but really his concentration was somewhere else. I kept on observing him, and he kept picking up the same two apples.

I turned my face and stared at some oranges for a moment. Was he following me? And how could they have found me? And who was they? NYC was like my hideaway. It's the easiest place to blend in. I should probably leave soon.

I walk away with my grocery basket only filled with a bag of pears. I turn down to the meat in the back and stop to look at some candy on a stand that covers my face. I peer from the side of it and sure enough, he moved up from where he was. So he is following me...

I keep walking then make a sharp left and Boom! I slam into something hard dropping my basket and stumbling backward but an arm grabs my waist.

"Crap" I mutter looking back to find that the man disappeared. He probably knew I was onto him.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there" says a low husky voice. I look up at his face and can't help it when my heart skips a beat. Well I definitely didn't see you there...

He was tall, I estimated 6'2. He had broad shoulders, and no doubt he was hiding a six pac under the layers he had on, but not like I didn't have one. He had strong features, shaggy brown hair, and the deepest blue eyes. This guy was totally hot.

Still, that didn't stop me from saying " Getting a little touchy feely are we?" When one of his hands started sliding slowly down my back. I took his arms off me.

"I'm sorry okay?" He said trying to defend himself and picked up my basket and handing it to me, "Wasn't my fault though, you bumped into me"

Like that gives him the right to get all grabby "I did not" I lie possibly trying to convince him. It didn't work.

"Well anyway, you should bump into me more often"he grins.

"I'd rather not"I grin back at him but mine is fake. I walk around him and back to the produce aisle searching for apples again. He follows me though and I sigh. Shouldn't he be in school? He looks to be 21 and all the colleges around here are in session. Of course I would be too, being 20, but I already have all the education I need.

"Are you sure about that?"he says and then he pauses and leans on the shelf next to me and says in a husky voice "because I'd really want to see you again".

This would probably drive other girls crazy, but of course I'm not 'other girls'. I keep a straight face but feel a blush coming on.

Damn him.
