Recap:
"Annabeth," he said quietly," That wasn't your fault."

"Yes it was," I sobbed into his chest," She would still be alive if I had checked the store better. We wouldn't have run Into those zombies and she wouldn't have tried to save me."

"Still be alive?" he sounded surprised.

"Yeah, there's no way she survived a whole town of zombies, Jason," I said when I could talk without sobbing between every other word.

"No, no, no, Annabeth, you have it all wrong," he said as the door opened and a slim figure dressed in dark clothes stepped in, along with Percy.

"Annabeth!" Percy said, "I want you to meet someone."

The figure stepped into the light so I could see better, it was definitely female. She was tall, very tall. And her hair was covered with a black hood.

"Annabeth?" the voice spoke, "Is that you?"
She pulled her hood down and I gasped. She had the same black, choppy hair. The same electric blue eyes...

"Thalia?"

"Oh my gods, Annabeth!" she exclaimed as we ran into each other's arms, "I never thought I'd see you again. I waited and waited at the rendezvous point but you never came," she said, choking up.

"I couldn't go, " I told her, holding onto her even tighter, "it was infested with zombies. I thought you were dead. Or worse- turned."

I heard her hold in a strangled sob as she released me and looked at me. Her eyes searched my face and then the rest of me and she smiled, "You look so grown up."

"I'm not a little girl anymore," I told her. I've been here for a few hours, where has she been?

"How long have you been here?" She asked and Percy spoke up for me.

"Only a few hours. We found her trying to get into that military base that we trap all the zombies in," he chuckled, but when he noticed my glare he stopped.

"You trap zombies in there?!" I whipped my head around to look at Percy and see him shrink a little.

"Well.. Yeah. There was no one left- no survivors, so we thought..."

"Annabeth, I'm sorry," Thalia said, "I was trying to leave a clue for you, something to tell you that I was alive, that the rendezvous point was over run but I couldn't," she explained, "Its not Percy's fault."

"Okay," I sighed, "I'm sorry. I just- I thought you were dead. I thought it was my fault. For so long..."

"Is that what you were trying to tell me?" I turned to Jason and he nodded. All I could do was look at the ground.

"I do appreciate you telling me though," Jason said, "That couldn't have been easy. Especially for you."

"Especially for her?" Percy asked.

"Yeah," Jason smiled at me, "She's really big on doing the right thing and making the right decisions. And she's usually always right."

"Oh, so you're a Wise Girl, huh?" Percy asked me.

"A Wise Girl?" I repeated.

"I like it. I think that'll be your new nickname."

"You're such a-a pea brain!" I said, and Jason stifled a laugh.

"Pea Brain?" Percy said, "Come on, Wise Girl, I think you can do a little better than that."

There was a flicker of mischief in those sea green eyes of his that I just couldn't ignore. A sort of challenge. Its as if he's just begging me to catch the bait.

And that's exactly what I did.

"Sea weed brain," I muttered and took Thailia but the hand and walked out of the room to catch up on life with her. Mayne she has something new to tell me.

Something other than how many zombies she's killed or how many times she's escaped the terrible fate we all share. Maybe she'll tell me about some lovely dream she's had, or someone she rescued.

Maybe having her back could change my life again. Maybe this time, we won't get separated.
