Steve picked me up after school and he was in some kind of sailor costume. I gave him a weird look,
"Ok stop judging it's my scoops ahoy uniform, Mum said to take you with me so you can hang out or whatever" Steve said
"Ok" I said blankly
I figured it would be better than staying home with Aunt Vicki for the night.
"soo make any friends?" Steve asked
"Well I wouldn't call them my friends but I met your Kids today" I said
"Henderson!" Steve said excitedly
"The one with no teeth?" I asked
"Em, not cool... but yes the one with no teeth" He said
"So do you like them!" Steve said
"Well Dustin is kind but don't know if he's my type of person, Will didn't talk the whole time, Eleven clearly doesn't like me, Mike is reasonably normal but he was with the Eleven girl the whole time, Lucas is just-I don't know quirky? And Max well she's cool." I explained
"Ok firstly, how could you not like Henderson!" Steve said
"And Will- he's just shy he's been through alot, you wouldn't believe, yes Eleven can be like that sometimes but she also has had a difficult life, I can't vouch for Mike but all I know is he and El are dating and are inseparable!"
"Jeez you know these guys real well, do you have any real friends?" I questioned
"Wha- What's that supposed to mean, Of course I do!" He tried to defend himself
"Okay then who are they?" I said
"Well there's Henderson-" He started
"People who are the same age!" I exclaimed
"Oh um.... Robin! she works with me, and uh Nancy she's sort of my friend I guess, we used to date so..."
"Ahh yes I've heard all about your dating life today," I revealed
"What-" He said
"Don't ask" I quickly said
We pulled into a carpark and I saw a massive mall with crowds of people right in front of me, maybe there would be something fun about this after all.
"Come on I have to get to work" Steve said
I followed Steve up to Scoops ahoy- a Sailing themed ice cream parlour- hence the outfit.
"Is this another one of your little friends Harrington?" Robin commented
"No she's my cousin for your information" He replied
"Oh hi mini Harrington, I see you have nice hair too!" She said
"Thanks" I said
"So how is it stuck at Steve's house?" She asked
"Not so great, but it's getting better" I replied
"He's a dingus believe me I would know" Robin joked
I liked Robin, maybe Steve did have some good friends after all.
I relaxed on one of the couches at scoops ahoy, eating ice cream watching the crowds of people outside the parlour. In the distance I see Steves friends walking towards Scoops ahoy.
I overheard them talking about me!
"What do you guys think of that new girl?" Lucas asked
"She's kinda cool," Max said
"Anyone friends - better yet RELATED to Steve is super awesome!" Dustin exclaimed
"Jeez you're like obsessed with Steve" Max said
"I guess, but I think El is a bit reluctant to make more friends like when Max joined the party" Mike added
"Well you can't blame her she's still new to like the whole world after that lab and the upside down and stuff" Dustin blabbed
"DUSTIN!" Max said as she nudged him hard
"Someone will hear us!" Will said
what the hell is the upside down and what does a lab have to do with Eleven? I wondered
"More ice cream?" Robin interrupted
I lost my train of thought but something wasn't quite right about this town.
