Tom looked at me with his eyebrow raised, and I shifted under his gaze. He smiled lightly, and I looked at him, nearly pleading with my eyes for him to stop staring at me.
"You don't talk, huh? Mute.. by choice or not?" He asked, and I started to write a note to him.
'By choice.. may I ask what it is to you?'
'Just wanted to get to know you, that's all.'
'It's really none of your business, don't you think?'
'So I can't get to know the beautiful girl I'm showing around?'
'Fine. I was five, and my best friend was a guy called Ben. He was everything to me, and we fell in love.. He was murdered, right infront of me Tom. I chose to never speak again, because my big mouth gets everyone I love in trouble.'
'Oh.. urm, okay then.'
"Thomas, Raelynn, is there something you'd like to share with the class?" The teacher, Mr Poxley, near enough shouted, making me jump and squeak. Let's just say he didn't look impressed, and Tom looked at me for an explanation.
"Raely's mute Sir, she can't exactly talk back to you. You have to be respectful and at least make an effort to get to know your students before assuming things. I mean, how disrespectful!" Tom accused, and scoffed, pulling me up with him and storming out of the classroom, Mr Poxley shouting after us about how sorry he was and we should come back.
Me and him ended up at a deserted park, and I looked at him, not believing that I let a boy I've just met drag me out of school. He smirked down at me, and laughed at my expression.
"You aren't a bad girl, are you? I mean, you look so unbelieving right now it's actually funny." He grinned, and I sighed, rolling my eyes and pulled out my notebook, starting to doodle. He started looking over my shoulder, and I glared, flipping to another page.
'Can I help you with something?!'
"No, it's good. Just watching you doodle. You're cute when you concentrate." He smiled, and I smiled lightly too, running my hand through my hair before putting the pencil back to paper, scribbling furiously.
'What are you doing to me, Thomas? You're going to make me explode one day, you're a bad boy that's only good for me, eh?'
"Yep. And you're a good girl who's only bad for me.. we balance eachother out just fine. So, tell me about yourself?" He asked, and I shrugged, turning to him and running my hand through his brown afro-thing that sat on his head, shagging over his blue eyes very attractively.
'My names Raelynn McKenzie. I'm 16, my birthday is December fifteenth. I'm a model and a dancer, I'm from Dakota and I'm mute.'
"Cool. Well I'm Thomas Kensington, I'm 16, my birthday is on the fourteenth of December. I could be a model, but I'm not into that, I've got a big crush on a little girl and she's new," Tom smiled, and I giggled, turning pink as he stated his crush.
'That's so cute!'
"Glad you think so sweetheart. Now come on, we're gonna have to go home because it's nearly four." He pointed out, and I gasped, checking the time and realising he was right. He chuckled as I fretted to get home, and took my hand, interlacing our fingers before starting to run.
I like this.. a lot really.
