A Shadow Mistress Debuts her Face (Finale)

Are we…going to die? Charlotte thought as she and John were plummeting towards the pool of scortches.

No…No! Charlotte doesn't want to die, someone get Charlotte out of here! She thought desperately as she held John for dear life, but then a ball of soot shot out from her hair and shot out wide accompanied by a current of electrical light.

Charlotte was surprised as she and John fell through and landed on a bed of grass. Freya looked up at the circle before it shrunk and it disappeared.

"Calling it a cheat is definitely no joke, you basically created a portal of which you can open and close on your own free will…sort of. Can you control it?" Arla asked as they were walking towards the exit of this maze.

"Charlotte doesn't think so…Charlotte was feeling a lot of emotions…but with some practice she should be able to control it…maybe." Charlotte said.

"As much as I'd like to encourage you to practice it as much as possible, I'm worried that it'll put a target on your back." Arla said. "Think about it Charlotte, you have soot power that'll allow you movement to and fro places as you please…and if timed and used correctly you could be anywhere at any time without anyone possibly noticing and it worries me because you might be seen as a threat." She said.

"She understands." Charlotte nods.

"I really hope you do Charlotte, because where we are now, being to special might as well get us killed or used, which is why I hope that we do not follow that troop of overpowered reincarnated main character…because I'm afraid I won't be able to protect you well enough on my own." Arla said, looking crestfallen.

"But Charlotte wants to protect you too…Arla is very dear to me–"

"Charlotte–"

"No! We came to this world together and just because Charmwas reborn as a Shadow Master doesn't mean she is any less capable of defending herself and  will also do her best to protect you and we'll make it through this together and that's final! Hmph!" Charlotte huffed, crossing her arms over her chest, standing her ground against her significant other.

After her declaration Arla stood there a bit stunned, but after her shock wore off she sighed seeing as there's no way to convince her.

"Fine, fine…let's just get the rest of this stupid test over with." Arla said.

"Yes!" Charlotte beamed and they continued to walk together and as they walked they joined hands intertwining their fingers in the process.

"How do you think Edward is going to react when he finds out his precious keys are missing?" Arla smiled looking over at Charlotte.

"You stole his keys?! Wow, he's going to be so angry…but what have you done to the keys?" Charlotte asked.

"I gave them to Emilico…but don't worry to avoid getting caught, I told her to dump the keys somewhere and I doubt Edward will notice because he holds so little regard for them." Arla said.

"Hey Arla, do you want to do something fun?" Charlotte asked.

"What would that be?" Arla asked.

"If you're willing to give up first place…do you want to pay him a visit?" Charlotte said, sounding mischievous.

"What a lovely idea but…Bunny, Piggy sorry to cut the trip short but we're nearing the end of this trip so it's best if you go back to the room." Arla said.

"Kyu?!"

"Muu?"

Don't worry we'll be fine and if you both go and not get caught Charlotte will reward you handsomely." Charlotte said although looking reluctant the two nodded and jumped into the bushes.
