And that's what we did, except it didn't go as smoothly as we hoped because we had no idea how we were going to get Ahmed around.

"We can find a wagon and push him around."

Nadene said. Scar rolled her eyes and said,

"Where are we going to find a wagon magically? That's the dumbest idea I ever heard."

I looked her in the eye and yelled,

"at least she's coming up with ideas. Better than what you are doing." Scar looked at me and said,

"Bad ideas just waste time, and we don't have time to waste."

dan hit the ground and shouted,

"fussing with each other isn't going to help either."

Then he walked off. Scar walked over to Ahmed, stood directly in front of him, and said,

"isn't a cripple boy just going to hold us back, especially if the others catch us? There's an easier chance of us getting caught."

"What is wrong with you,"

I snapped,

"how can you even say that?"

scar huffed,

"I know you were thinking it too. You're just too scared to admit it."

Zara pushed her away from Ahmed and snapped,

"Don't you ever get that close to my brother again?"

Scar bent down in Ahmed's face and whispered.

"And what's your big bad sister going to do about it."

I tried to pull Scar back, but she just knocked my hand away. Then Zara stepped closer to Scar and said,

"You have 5 seconds to back up from my brother>."

Scar interrupted Zara and said,

"And what are you going to do?"

Then Dan walked back in. He had too-long sticks with rags on the top of them in his hands. He looked around the room and said,

"Here, we can use this."

No one reacted. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with scissors. Dan then said,

What happened?"

No one said anything. Dan took a deep breath and said,

"Ahmed, can you see if you can walk with these."

Ahmed nodded his head yes. Dan grabbed both of his hands and helped him up. Dan then placed the sticks underneath Ahmed's arms and let go. We all stood there staring at him, waiting on him to take his first steps, but he didn't move. He just stood there.

"I can't do this."

He cried. I stepped closer to him, smiled, and said,

"You can do it. You have to try."

Ahmed took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He then pushed the sticks into the ground, making himself move. It was like watching a toddler trying to walk for the first time. After taking his first steps, everyone screamed with happiness except for Scar. Scar always seems to be in a bad mood lately, and I didn't understand why

Scar began to clap her hands mockingly and said,

"Since we got crip up in walking, we should start heading out." We all just looked at her. It was like she didn't care anymore. She didn't care who she hurt. Then she walked out the front door. No one else moved. We just watched as the front door shut. Dan mumbled,
