As Mew stood in front of the bathroom mirror shaving his face, he could feel a nervousness take over his body, making his stomach tight. They'd had a two day break from filming, and so Mew hadn't seen Gulf since... that thing... but today they were back to filming, and he would have to be around Gulf, would have to look at him, touch him... He paused, took a deep breath to steady his shaking hand, and finished shaving.
Once he was dressed and ready to go, he took a final look in the mirror and adjusted his clothes and hair. He would be sitting in hair and makeup before filming, as always, but he wanted to look... good. If nothing else, he wanted Gulf to see him looking his best.
It was only as he started his car that he remembered they were doing separate scenes today and would most likely not see each other.
...
As he had thought, he had not seen Gulf in the end. He had filmed his scene on location with Tong and Kaownah in the morning, hung around for a few hours in case they needed to reshoot something, then had been sent home, as the rest of the day would be spent filming scenes he wasn't in. Somehow, knowing that he would only see Gulf tomorrow had done nothing to ease his nerves; instead he felt his anxiety build and build. It reminded him of being in school, having to prepare an oral presentation and then finding out he would be the last person presenting; he was never able to listen to the other students, getting instead more and more nervous for his own presentation with every passing minute.
He decided to head to the gym to sweat out some of the tension in his body and force his mind to think about something else. Thankfully he always kept a packed gym bag in his car and could head straight there.
The workout helped for a while, and for a good portion of the evening he was able to relax, eating a good dinner and watching a movie, but when he was back in bed with the lights off and no noises to distract him, thoughts of Gulf came flooding back.
...
When Mew awoke, his room was suspiciously bright. Too bright for 5 am. He looked at the time: 6 am. He jolted up, gasping. Somehow he'd slept through his alarm and had woken up at the time he was supposed to leave. He ran to the bathroom, turned on the shower, slapped some toothpaste on his toothbrush and jumped in the shower. Washing himself and brushing his teeth at the same time proved difficult, and by the time he'd finished showering he'd swallowed some soap and gotten a fair amount of shampoo in his eyes, which were now lightly pink. He looked at the time again: 6:15. He threw on some clothes, grabbed a banana and protein bar and ran out the door.
By the time Mew pulled into the parking lot of the studio, his stomach was in a knot and his palms felt clammy. He took one long, steadying breath, then walked into the studio.
They were going to be filming the scene at the bar in the morning then the reconciliation scene at the apartment in the afternoon. Mew headed to costumes and got dressed for his first scene, then made his way to the hair and makeup room. He pushed open the door and his breath caught when he saw that Gulf was already there, looking devastatingly beautiful as he made polite chit chat with the different people fretting around him, moving small strands of hair and glossing his lips. God, those lips... Mew made himself look away as he forced out an enthusiastic "Good morning!"
Gulf turned his head, gave him a quick smile and replied back with a happy "Good morning!" before turning his head back so the makeup artist could finish up his face. If there was any awkwardness on Gulf's end, it was completely undetectable. Mew sat down, waiting for his turn. When the makeup artist got to him, she let out a loud sigh. "Mewww, look at those circles under your eyes! You just had two days off and then a half day and you didn't manage to get any sleep?? And you didn't even shave! Ay, what am I gonna do with you!"
