Mew had drifted in and out of sleep all night, his excitement keeping him up. When his alarm rang that morning, he was already awake. He shot out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Once he had showered, shaved and gotten dressed, trying on half of his closet before going back to the first outfit, he stood in front of the mirror, adjusting and readjusting every strand of hair on his head.
He could never stomach a big breakfast when he had to be up at dawn for shooting, but he made himself some coffee and had a bit of leftover rice soup then headed out.
When he walked into the makeup room, Gulf was, as usual, already there, and looking stunning as ever, maybe even more so now that Mew knew the feel of his tongue, the taste of his lips away from cameras. Mew observed him for a moment as the hair and makeup artists primped and primed him.
"Hi" he called out, a greeting that seemed intended for everyone, but was really intended for Gulf, only for Gulf. The other people in the room barely registered, just shapes and sounds orbiting around the sun, his sun. Gulf turned his head towards him, his cheeks flushing as he greeted Mew.
As they filmed their scenes that morning, Mew felt restless. He loved working with Gulf, but today it didn't feel like enough. He didn't want to be Tharn and Type, reciting lines to each other. He wanted to be Mew and Gulf. No costumes, no cameras, no crew; just the two of them, together.
They broke for lunch, and Mew sat across from Gulf at their usual table, surrounded by the other actors. He took out his phone, holding it under the table, and typed:
M: So, what do you feel like eating tonight?
He watched as Gulf took out his phone, looked at the screen and smiled discreetly.
G: I've been craving Kra Pao Moo all week, can we go to a Thai restaurant?
Mew wasn't about to tell Gulf he'd had Kra Pao Moo just yesterday; if Gulf was craving Thai food, he would get it for him.
M: Sure, sounds good :)
G: Ok :)
Mew looked up from his phone and looked at Gulf. The two smiled shyly at each other across the table.
...
Filming resumed for the afternoon. They had to shoot the fight scene, which required multiple actors and multiple angles and would take a while to get through.
While they were between takes, Mew asked to go to the bathroom. As he was washing his hands, Gulf walked in.
"Hey..." Gulf said.
"Hey" Mew responded, smiling softly.
"Looks like we're gonna finish a little late today... Do you still want to go eat together?"
Mew smiled. Gulf had no idea how badly he wanted to spend the evening with him. They could finish at 1 am and he would still find a place for them to eat.
"Of course... Did you drive your car this morning?"
"No, I got a lift from someone..."
"Then, should we meet in front of my car when we're done shooting and I'll drive us to the restaurant?"
"Ok" Gulf replied, smiling shyly.
...
By the time they had finished shooting and reshooting every part of the scene, it was 8 pm and they were both starving. They headed to their dressing rooms, then, as agreed, met in front of Mew's car. They could have walked out of the studio together, and if anyone had asked they would have simply told them that they were grabbing a bite, but Mew wasn't sure what this was and wasn't prepared for any scrutiny from their friends and colleagues.
