32. Stop the fight

Zayn left early today before any of the others left. I don't know what the rush was. He didn't even eat. Shaun was even surprised how fast he left the house today

Jax isn't talking to me right now. After he came into Zayn's and I's room, it's just been strange. He wanted to talk to me about something, but I'm not sure anymore

"Angel, we'll be coming in a bit later today," Shaun informed me

"Okay,"

Shaun nodded before exiting the house, Jax had finished putting his shoes on. He walked towards me and stared into my eyes. He was about to say something but closed his mouth and shook his head. He was about to open the door and leave when I called him

"Jax"

He turned his head to the side and looked over his shoulder at me. I know I shouldn't do this, but I quickly ran behind him and gave him a hug. He tensed up, and he turned in my arms so that he was facing me. I slowly looked up at him and saw he had this cold expression on his face as he stared into my eyes. I slowly put my head down and let go of him, I was about to walk away when he grabbed my arm. Pulling me into his chest and crushing his lips against mine

I stood there kinda shocked. He had his hand on my waist as I felt his grip get tighter on me. I don't know why this feeling had to come back, just as I'm gonna be leaving soon. I kissed him back, which caught him off guard. He pulled me in closer so that our bodies were pressed up, not letting any space between us.

His kiss was way different than Zayn's, I could feel the passion he has in it but the disrespect at the same time. Zayn's kiss is full of love and passion and care, but Jax. Jax's kiss was more intense, passionate, and dangerous. Disrespectful.

We finally pulled away from each other to catch our breaths. I stared down at the floor as I heard Jax's heavy breathing

"Sorry," I said softly to him

"Don't be," he spoke

I looked up at him, and he saw staring down at me. He didn't have his intense cold expression on his face anymore. It was still there but mostly covered by another emotion that I couldn't quite make out. He gave me a soft smile and then a quick peck on the lips before saying

"I'll see you later,"

"Okay,"

He opened the door and then left. This is my chance. I quickly cleaned up. The house wasn't very dirty, so I finished up quickly. Once I was done, I checked on Luke and then fed him. He stayed in the crib as he played with his blankets, and that sound kept him busy for a bit. I just need to find that book

I ran to Shaun's room and checked the drawers but couldn't find anything, I checked whatever boxes were there but didn't find anything, I tried leaving everything the exact same way I found it. I checked the bed and under the mattress and didn't find it

Where could it be?

I walked around the room before walking into the hallway, and then it hit me. Zayn was very close to Annabelle, so what if the book is in Zayn's room. I quickly rushed over there and checked the drawers but didn't find anything, I checked everywhere around the room but nothing.

Maybe under the bed?

I got down and checked under the bed, nothing

Under the mattress?

Just as I picked the mattress up, I saw it. The brown covered book, I pulled it out and saw Annabelle's name on the front

Does Zayn even know this is here?

I was about to open it but decided to wait a bit. I should go start with dinner first, Shaun said they were coming in later today, but I don't know what time they mean by later
