Maxs POV:
Today is a Friday, last Friday before spring break, and the party and I are going to go to a house party, we were invited by Stacey Wallis, the current 'queen' of Hawkins high, originally I didn't want to go to this party, mainly because Stacey is a bitch, but el, my best friend, and Lucas, my boyfriend, both convinced me to go to 'help me get over my home life', with Neil and billy constantly fighting or taking their anger out on me or my alcoholic mother who wants nothing to do with me, yeah it's pretty shitty.
Usually I'm happier with my friends than a whole crowd of people, I'm not really a people person, so, once school ended I went over to Els (and wills but he's going to mikes house) house to get ready with her and convince her (step) mom and dad that she was just sleeping over at my house, on the way to her house we gossiped about some of the girls at our school.
'Y'know im pretty sure Stacey has a thing for Lucas' El suddenly says, which makes me stop.
'What?' I chuckle, thinking that she's joking but I am dead wrong and she is dead serious.
'Which is why I'm helping you to impress Lucas!' We laugh as she starts patting my back as we continue walking.
'And who should I help you impress in return, El?' I question, which makes us both stop, 'shit I forgot your aromatic, sorry'
We both laugh and walk up to the porch of her house, I let her in front to open, well knock but you get what I mean, we are greeted with Jonathan, he immediately lets us in
'Mom and hop are on a date right now, can I get either of you anything to eat or do I need to help with anything?' He politely asked, god why couldn't my step brother be like him
'Nah it's good, thanks bro' el responded smiling, dragging me up to her bedroom.
Once we got into her room she sat me down and she started rummaging through her closet, after a while she finally pulled something out.
'Found it!' She exclaimed, throwing the item at me, it was a rose gold-ish dress, it was probably the fanciest dress I was ever going to wear, besides from the dress I wore to mom and Neil's wedding when I was younger.
