Bella was missing. Our dad had everyone out looking for her, in ever direction, except me. He wouldn't let me go and find her.
"Dad, let me go, she knows me please." I begged with him, but he still shook his head, I sighed and waited.
There was police dogs, Billy Blacks family, and the police officers out in the woods. You could hear faint barks, leaves crunching, the wind blowing, but still no sign of Bella.
"We'll find her." Billy said to my dad, my dad nodded, keeping his eyes on the map, I looked out into the woods, trying to find anyone that would walk out with my little sister.
Soon someone walked out of the woods, I couldn't quite make them out, the further they walked, the more you could see them, and there was a person in their arms.
"Dad!!" I yelled, pointing to the unknown man, we ran forward, and there she was, she was shaking, she looked scared, and cold.
My dad immediately took her from the man's arms, and nodded at him, I looked at him, and our eyes connected.
I watched as little parts of my life flew by my eyes, little glimpses of me and this man, who I didn't even know.
Suddenly I was snapped out of it, I stared at him in shock, as he did me.
"Sam Uley, nice to meet you." He said, I smiled and shook his hand.
"Luna Swan, nice to meet you too." I said back, I looked back at my house, then at him. "I'm sorry but I have to go check on her." I told him, he nodded with a small smile.
"No problem, I'll see you later." He said, I nodded and ran to my house, Bella was laying on the couch, crying.
"Oh sweetie." I said, I walked forward, and held her hand, she looked at me with tear filled eyes.
"He left me, they all left me." She whispered, I frowned, and hugged her tightly, she hugged back.
"It'll be okay." I whispered, she shook her head, and continued to cry.
Let's just say, I didn't get any sleep because I couldn't leave her alone or she freaked out when she woke up from a nightmare.
The next morning, I got up, and started making breakfast, like I did every morning, but dad wasn't here, Bella wasn't up, it wasn't the same.
I made pancakes, and set them all on a plate, before I went upstairs, I opened Bella's door, to see her still sleeping, I scribbled on a piece of paper that I'd be at work.
I went into my room, and grabbed my work pants, and a white button up, and my name tag. I put them all on, then grabbed my shoes.
I worked as a waitress at a diner in the reservation. I've loved the rez since I was little, I always wanted my dad to move there so we could live there, but he didn't want to, so when I came down here, I just went to school there.
I got in my little white pick up, that my friend rebuilt for me, and started off to work.
When I got there, I checked in, and immediately started working, I put on my apron and started picking up dirty dishes.
The bell above the door rang, and I walked to the counter, it was me, Sue Clearwater, Leah Clearwater, and another girl that I didn't know working here, other then the manager.
I looked up, and saw Sam, I haven't spoken to him at all until last night, my last year of high school was when he just became a junior, so I didn't really pay attention to him at all.
He should be around twenty now, only two years younger then me.
"Hi, what would you like?" I asked, he smiled at me, and looked over the menu.
"Uh, just the breakfast sandwich, and a lemonade." He said, he pulled out his wallet, and handed me a twenty. "Keep the change." He said, he smiled and went off to sit at a table, I smiled and put the twenty in the register, then took a five out, as his change, and out it in my pocket.
I grabbed a glass, and filled it with ice, and lemonade, before walking over to him and handing it to him.
"Thank you for saving my sister." I stood him, he nodded with a small smile.
"We all had parts to do, I'm sure it was scary for her." He said, I nodded and looked around, I forgot to give the ticket to the chef, I ran in there real quick, and gave it to him, he nodded with a small smile, and started working.
"Sorry, I forgot to tell him what you wanted." I said, Sam chuckled and looked at me.
"It's okay. How are you doing?" He asked me, I shrugged, not really knowing how to answer.
"Tired I guess, Bella kept having nightmares and wouldn't let me go to my room." I told him, he nodded and looked at his hands, that were fidgeting around.
"I'm sure it's hard for her, since the Cullen's left." He told me, I nodded, everyone now knew about that, Dr. Cullen called in and told them he would be leaving.
"She knew them for like half a year, she needs to get over it." I said, Sam looked at me, and shook his head.
"She loved him, you can't just get over that." He told me, I looked down, and sighed.
"I know, but I also know she's gonna be like this for a very long time, and I don't know if I can do it. It's like having a baby." I told him, he nodded in understanding, I felt like I could tell anything to him? And he'd just sit there and listen.
A bell dinged, and I got up, I walked behind the counter, and grabbed the food that was sitting there, I walked back over to Sam and gave it to him.
"Thank you," he said, I nodded, and went back to the counter.
