Part 1 { spy mission } REWRITTEN

Dusts POV:

'Ugh, this is soooo annoying.'

I trudged down the long dim hallway. I wasn't bothered by the soft icy winds that crept around the castle in the mornings, more by the fact It was so early. It was the crack of dawn and I had been thrown out of my dreamless sleep by Nightmare, likely summoning me for another assignment like he usually does at this time.

When I said it's early in the morning, I mean it's daytime. In the underground where us demons live, morning is considered the night and vice versa.

I slowly made my way to the boss's thrown. Soon being met with a huge metal pear door engraved with symbols and a crest of a moon on top of it all. I wasn't very afraid, I had been doing these kinds of jobs for a while and had grown accustomed to it. I would usually wake up at this time to do some scouting around areas around the castle and different kingdoms for Nightmare. This time was no different or so I thought.

I took a deep breath and opened metal doors walking into the throne room. Kneeling in front of Nightmare's throne where he sat.

With a wide grin on his face, he spoke, "Dust, I want you to go to my brother's kingdom and gather information. I suspect he's up to something with how quiet he's been lately. Go, report back to me as soon as you find something."

"As you wish, my lord" I bowed my head as I exited the room.

I was occasionally sent on spy missions to collect information for Nightmare. He always gave me the job saying it was because I'm the quietest in the most skilled at this specific task, it frustrated me.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate my job but it's frustrating that I'm always the one tasked with it. I wish Killer would do it for once, but he always makes excuses claiming that I'm the most skilled spy on the team they have.

I sighed calming myself down before going back to the task at hand. I hadn't gone to Dreams Domain before meaning this would be my first time. I started brainstorm ideas on how I would sneak into his palace.

I walked down the hallway as a huge grin started to crawl across my face. "This was gonna be so interesting."
