Far to the north of the icy continent of Eureka, there was a small town of human-animal hybrids("Ani-mates") called Stormcliff. Despite being completely surrounded by huge icy mountains and isolated from the rest of the world these people were self-sustained and had happy lives.
It is said that all these Ani-mates used to be actual animals and their town used to be a tropical forest. And it was a witch's curse that changed them into these human hybrids.
Generally, the people of Stormcliff are very peace-loving people. They laughed to the fullest and enjoyed every small moment of their life. Except for one guy, Cotton. Cotton is a sheep hybrid with sheep horns, sheep tails, and a human body.
Cotton was the lone survivor from the group who tried to cross the mountain. He was found at the entrance of the town highly injured with broken ribs and multiple other fractured bones. He lost his ability to move or to speak due to this incident and was bedridden since then.
Coming back to the current time, a kid finds a bag hidden in the bushes near the entrance of the Town. The bag contained some vials with some weird pink solution. The kids took the bottle to her dad, Hopper, and Hopper looked at the bottle and said to his friend. I think this is the new beverage they were working on.He smells it "It smells like Strawberries''. Hopper was a rabbit hybrid with a giant body and cute little bunny ears. He took a sip of it and immediately spat it out.
"Yuck, this ain't a beverage this is some stupid medicine, and he passed what was left in the bottle to the kid and asked her to take it to the chemist. "This may be his, he may have dropped it accidentally".
The kid took it to the chemist. The chemist Zovaan, an Owl Hybrid who was busy with some other serious matters and asked the girl to keep the bag on his desk. A few hours later Zovaan took the bag. He examined the bottle, and while he was on to it the little girl came back to him asking for help. She said there was something wrong with her dad.
Zovaan along with the kid rushed to her home. Hopper was lying on the floor, his nails were longer, his eyes were red, he was losing his mind. Zovaan without wasting any time gave him an injection and sedated him. And asked his fellow villagers to carry him to his clinic.
Once in the clinic and after running some tests, Zovaan said. This seems to be some sort of infection even though he doesn't know what it was exactly he thinks that the bottle that the child brought him was the cause of it. And till he can find a cure he wanted Hopper to be left with him.
He again ran multiple tests and found that the compound in the bottle was somehow affecting their animal instincts and the animal part of the body was trying to take over the human half. While going through the symptoms of Hopper, he saw many similarities with that of Cotton's. Hopper has also lost his ability to move his limbs as well as to talk. Zovaan thought to himself "this is bad, and this could be even bigger than an infection".
He decided to report this to the town management committee, after hearing about the matter the committee asked Zovaan if they can find an antidote or medicine to this as we already have the compound responsible for the mutation.Zovaan saying he would try his best returned to his workstation. After months of work, he came up with an antidote. He used it on Hopper and Cotton. Hopper slowly started to recover but Cotton showed no improvement.
Zovaan tried everything he could with his limited knowledge of the subject but was not able to fix Cotton. Hopper returned to his normal state after a few months of treatment, and everyone else in the town was tested for symptoms, and actions were taken to prevent further spread. Eventually almost everything went back to normal
But Zovaan was not happy, there were many things haunting him, Like why didn't the antidote work on Cotton, who must have dropped the bag in Stormcliff, was it someone from the town or from outside, if outside then how did they reach here when their people couldn't complete it and the most interesting one: what lies beyond the mountains. And the only one who could unlock these mysteries was Cotton.
