Keeper

The Sorting (2)

I ended up in a boat with two girls who were constantly leaning over the boat to touch the water.

"It's almost like flying." The girl in the front of the boat said turning to the girl directly in front of me, "Don't you think Katie?"

Katie the girl directly in front of me giggled and reached down for the water again. "It's water Angelina, plus we can't play quidditch until second year."

"I guess so, but we have flying lessons this year at least." Angelina looked at me from the front and awkwardly smiled. "Hi, I'm Angelina and this is Katie we met on the train. Do you want to play quidditch?"

"Yeah, my brother plays right now, he's a seeker. I want to be a keeper." 

"That's cool we both want to be chaser's; I want to be in Ravenclaw like my older sister. And Angelica wants to be in Gryffindor, she met a boy who wants to be in that house and now she's set on it." Katie tilted her head towards a boat with three very loud boys, two I had met before because Cedric had a friend who was a year 6, the twins had tried to prank me, but the youngest girl had stopped them. 

"I met them, their sister's cool but I don't know, they tried to prank me. You seem too nice for them." I looked over and made eye contact with one who waved so I waved back.

"They tried to prank us too, but eventually we became friends on the ride here." Angelina sighed and went back to trying to touch the water until we got to the dock.

We all lined up to get sorted, I could see Cedric in the crowd smiling with his friends pointing to me. He was hoping we would be in the same house, and I did too, it would make it much easier to make friends. 

Katie was one of the first people to go and while she didn't look so happy to be in Gryffindor the house was happy to have her.

Soon I was up to be sorted right before the hat fell over my head, I saw Cedric give me a thumbs up. 

"You my child are many things but above all you are curious, it must be RAVENCLAW" The hat shouted after only a moment.

I glanced carefully over at the Hufflepuff to find Cedric clapping for me smiling in encouragement. 

I went to go sit with my new house.

"Hi! My name's Vix and this is my girlfriend Aaliyah." A girl with bright blue hair said across from me. Her girlfriend peeked up from her pie and waved. "We're seventh years, figured it'd be good to show a freshman around our last year." Vix smirked pointing her fork at me. 

"I'm glad you chose me I guess."

"Good to hear from you..."

"Isabelle"

"Can we call you Belle it's shorter?" I nodded uncertainly. "Good to know, tonight we'll get you from your dorm and show you around, okay?"

I nodded again and went back to eating.
