Chapter 3: Questions Answered

Your eyes open to a bright room. You stretch your arms above your head letting out a long yawn. It's past when you usually wake up. Slight panic rushes over you. You sigh as you remember. Oh right, I don't have to get up early for training.

It's your first day off Levi's squad. You groan knowing that you have to spend your day doing chores instead. Maybe I can get some more sleep. I haven't been told when I start today. Hopefully I can avoid him. You close your eyes again snuggling further into your sheets.

You hear 3 faint knocks at your door before a long silence. Rolling over to your other side and burying your face into your pillow you hope they go away. 3 faint knocks again. You stood up and pulled some pants on to accompany your nightshirt.

You lazily walked to the door and were greeted with a familiar stern face. The face softened lightly as they took in your appearance. Indifferently you rubbed your forehead with your palm. This time you were the one with a lack of emotion staring into his eyes.

Seriously. Why is he here? He didn't speak for awhile agitating you. You spoke "Why are you here?" A pause. "I came to tell you about your assignment for the day." He spoke sternly. "Okay, what is it?" you replied with audible annoyance. Another silence fell upon you.

You searched his face. Silence. His eyes moved to search your body.
Squirming uncomfortably in the silence you spoke again raising your voice "Why are looking at me like that?! You did the same thing throughout the whole meeting yesterday!"

He met your eyes after some time, leaning towards you and gently placing his fingers under your chin. He tilted your chin down placing his thumb on your bottom lip.

As he pulled the lip downward he whispered into your neck "I like to watch you squirm." Backing away his mouth contorted at your stunned face. Well I think I have my answer. He's actually attracted to me.

Your body became flustered again as your mind followed drawing a blank on how to respond. You were so confidently angered a moment ago yet he had mentally undressed you once again. You were both resenting and craving him. No, I'm only angry.

Unable to speak you chose to back through the door frame and grab the handle attempting to slam it in his face. You followed through with this action. Before the door could meet it's frame it stopped. Levi had wedged his boot through the opening. You cowered yet again in embarrassment. He slowly pried the door back open using his foot.

"We need to set some boundaries if you are going to speak to me like that." You commanded. His vision grew dark as you disregarded all respect for him as your superior. He spoke quietly and calmly "You may not be directly under my command right now but you definitely can't speak to me like that." He threw your words back at you mockingly.

He softened his gaze, feeling as though he won. You scoffed unable to think of a witty response. "Why did you really come here? Seems like you miss me already..." you intentionally stepped forward so you could look down on him. Your heart is racing.

"Actually I noticed you missed breakfast so I grabbed you something." He steps aside and grabs something off the floor. He hands you a small tray with tea, bread and an apple.

You looked at him in complete confusion. This is very out of character. Especially considering our encounter yesterday. Such a sweet gesture but not if you consider how violent he's been towards you.
