Third Person POV

Sam was walking through the halls of Mckinley High for the first time in years, each step filling his head with treasured memories of his time with his fellow gleeks... and those teachers who had more drama than the students. Enough about them, as he made his way to his first class of the day he thought about the torture he had endured in these halls, all the cherry slushies thrown at him, ruining his silky blonde hair and worst of all Principle Sylvester. He almost chuckled at the thought of the woman strutting the halls terrorising children everywhere she went. Boy, was he glad she left to put all her energy into her talk show. The bell rang as he entered his classroom for the day, he was getting tired of jumping place to place as only a substitute, however a feeling of relief washed over him as he entered the old music room standing in front of the new generation of gleeks.

The familiar sound of the bell rang throughout the school, as Sam turned to leave the classroom he stopped dead in his tracks. Amongst the crowd of gleeks, geeks, cheerios and regular students, he instantly recognised the face of the woman of his nightmares. Sue Sylvester. It took everything in Sam to not turn tail and run instantly, instead he composed himself and approached the devil tracksuit-wearing devil.
"Well I'll be damned, the big mouthed stripper has took a U turn back to the Glee club. Only this time that curly headed freak isn't here to stop me from giving you a swirly".
Sues words made his skin crawl as they reminded him of the relentless name calling she and almost everyone else tortured him with for all those years. Before he had the chance to respond, the impossible happened. She smiled. Sam looked at her confused, checking, he looked around to make sure she wasn't enjoying the pain of someone behind him.
"You know, you were my favourite of the singing suckers. Well the most tolerable at least, so how would you like a permanent position here at good old Mckinley High?". The words flowed out of her mouth with a sense of sincerity which worried Sam more than any scandal he partook in during his years there.
"I'm confused I thought you retired?", Were the only words Sam managed to form while maintaining eye contact with the woman who hadn't aged a day since he last saw her nine years ago. Sue put her arm around Sams' shoulder gripping it tightly, leading him to the teachers lounge.
"Oh some idiots cancelled my show but I handled them, then once the assault charges were dropped I decided to rekindle the excitement of ruling this dump of a school", Sue spoke with the same fire in her voice as she had all those years ago, the same determination to ruin everyone's lives. Except for his apparently.
"So what do you say T-Swizzle, you want the job?", Sams' suspicions died down as he heard her offer and a wave of relief flushed through him. He was finally getting a job.
"Absolutely I'll take it, when do I start?", He asked allowing a smile to spread across his face.

Sues grip loosened from his brown blazer and directed him towards a cabinet above the sink, she opened it a silver key amongst the many she possessed. The doors opened revealing the rows of personalised mugs.
"You're one of us now, hope one of these are big enough for you trout mouth", Sue replied, she beamed with what was either pride or pure hatred as she ignored his question. Either way Sam enjoyed the gesture knowing he finally had found some stability. Although his lonesomeness was beginning to consume him.

Sams first week teaching at McKinley high flew by, he couldn't wait to sign his contract officially. It was 9:57pm on a Saturday night, Sam was ready to celebrate his new job by of course watching Dirty Dancing and prank calling his old glee club peers. As Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes' lyrics flooded the small space of Sams apartment he reached for his phone, when it started to ring. The sudden noise of the phone startled Sam so much so he tripped over himself, hitting the ground hard. He scrambled to hit feet frantically reaching for his phone, he swiped the call just in time.
"H-Hello?", Sam answered, never checking who had initiated the call.
"Hello Mr Evans, this is Professor Kirblo from Monroe College, New York. I know this is short notice as you are aware the school year has already begun. Given that, this phone call is in regards to your application for the Theory of Music job at our school. As you know the role had been filled by another, however due to unfortunate circumstances that Professor will not be joining us this year. Therefore, we have accepted your offer and would like to offer you a position at our school starting Monday. What do you say?", The man at the other end of the line spoke with a scratchy voice however he seemed passionate about his work, reminding Sam of how badly he wanted that position. To move to New York and teach had been his dream ever since he landed his first ever job stripping. He knew he was made for much more than showing his rock hard abs to his adoring fans. Sam suddenly remembered the job he already had, but decided to ignore the thoughts as he knew he hadn't signed on yet and McKinley would just have to live without him for a while.
"I- woah this is such a huge opportunity thank you! I will totally be there!" Sam didn't try to contain the excitement he felt, practically shouting his response through the phone.
"Excellent, we'll see you Monday, I'll have an email sent to you with further details. Thank you, goodbye."
The Professor hung up the phone leaving Sam all alone to celebrate his new job (for the second time that night). The happiness he felt surged through him, everything was finally coming up Sam (not Kurt). He was basking in his triumph when suddenly a name came to his mind, a name powerful enough to change his excitement into terror in milliseconds. Sue Sylvester.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hours had passed since his phone call with the New York Professor, Sam paced around his half-furnished loft trying to figure out how he'd tell Sue he's leaving. She was Sams biggest fear and now he was poking the bear he had no clue how she'd take it, would he be hunted down? Framed? Tortured? Made to sing gaga again? He couldn't take it any longer. He picked up the phone and with shaky hands dialled the number he'd found on the school website. Each ring mocked Sam as he waited for the hell-beast to pick up, ring after ring, then suddenly it stopped. Relief flooded Sams senses as he lived another second without hearing her booming voice. He wrote her an email as he thought it would be easier than to have face to face- one he was sure he wouldn't make it out alive from. He reread it to himself fixing the spelling errors as he went.
@thatshowsuecsit.com,
Principle Sue, I regret to inform you that I will not be filling the position of Music teacher at your school for much longer. I apologise for the short notice however contracts hadn't yet been signed. My attempt at a less formal phone call for this matter was unsuccessful, thank you for your kindness. This is goodbye for now.
- Sam Evans
"Sounds good", Sam said aloud to himself, he let out a sigh and pressed send. He then opened a new tab and booked his one way ticket to New York.
