Prologue

Year: 2048
Date: 2/29/48

The world was an apocalyptic wasteland, streets littered with debris that came from crumbling buildings, flipped over cars, and flickering broken streetlights.

Small steps can be heard, crunching on the now gravely road. A figure strolled down the seemingly abandoned city, that was home to shops that were deserted and hologram advertisements glitching to no end.

The petite figure stopped due to a soft mew coming from their bag, veering to a somewhat hidden ally, the figure gently pulls their huge backpack off and sets it on the floor, unzipping the bag with a golden brown hand that was covered with rings adorning their fingers, as soon as the bag was fully opened, an orange feline head popped out, afterwards a dark grey one joined.

The figure pet the two needy cat droids and zipped the bag back up, resting it on their shoulders once more.

As soon as they looked back up through their wavy coral hair, styled into a short mullet, reaching the nape of their neck.

Bright pink eyes widened to find themselves staring directly at a scavenger, an android who's soul purpose is to capture humans and take them to who knows where.

The nine foot tall beast sputtered green light from its big lens. An unpleasant robotic voice spoke with a bright tone.

"Human, male, surrender or I will have to take your life."

Frozen in place. The twenty six year old boy stood still, frozen in his place. For what felt like an hour compared to a couple minutes, neither human nor android made the first move.

As soon as the boy took a single step back. The scavenger android launched itself forward whipping the boy in the head with its long prehensile tail.

Immediately rendering the boy unconscious. Before the boy slammed into the ally way wall, he was grabbed by the scavenger, now dangling in the air from the mechanical tail, the beast turned to leave the alley, speeding up into a gallop.

It seemed like a matter of seconds until the droid arrived at a large structure. Two androids stood at the entrance, they did not look like the beast.

instead, they looked like any normal human. The androids nodded to the scavenger to allow it inside.

Entering the noise filled cavernous area, bustling with chirping scavenger droids, several of which are carrying unfortunate humans.

Human looking androids inspected the caught peoples with their diligent eyes. Allowing them to pass to the next gigantic cavern carved into the mountains.

With just a glance at the beasts green eye. The scavenger droid carrying the boy bounced as it walked to the nearest android, as if it was proud of its catch.

It reached an android and stopped, Dropping said boy. A pale, black haired android crouched down to inspect the young man.

While doing so, the chirping scavenger droid dropped the bag the boy was originally carrying next to him.

The man looked intently at the pinkette with dark red eyes, a soft almost unnoticeable whirring noise sounded from the android.

It's eyes glazing over for less than a second. Stopping for the androids eyes to snap open wide.

"Finch Barnette.." a thick Australian accent made itself known. At that moment all noise died down till the only thing heard was the occasional mechanical clanking.

"Scavenger droid A4200, you will be escorted by guards to the North American continent to meet with the king. You are to never leave this boys side. Not even if the royal guards command it. Now take the nearest aircraft and go. We shall send scout droids to alert the king of his appearance."

The scavenger merely lifted the boy along with his bag and walked out, three android guards following.
