Winnie needed a change. After breaking up with her boyfriend of almost 5 years, she just couldn't take the hustle and bustle of New York City anymore. Maybe Los Angeles could be a good change for an artist like her.

Except . . .

Her car decides it can't quite make it there, and now she's stuck in Death Valley Junction, California, with almost nothing in sight but desert except, thank God, a small garage and an old run down hotel painted white and blue, almost like a piece of the Mediterranean out here in the middle of nowhere. So, she knocks on the lobby door, and her life changes forever thanks to the rough looking cowboy that opens the door.

Set in the 1970s, inspired by the real Amargosa Hotel and Opera House and loosely based on its history.

hello everyone! i haven't written a fic in SO long, and i recently was on a road-trip where we stayed at the real Amargosa Hotel and was so inspired i had to write about it!! it's history is so cool, i recommend checking it out. winnie is based off a real woman, marta becket, who was a singer, dancer, and actress really from NYC and bought the hotel to do one woman shows there, and painted gorgeous murals all over the building.

a few things to start us out. first, winnie is going to be a plus size character! as a big girl myself, i've always wanted representation where the mc is fat in the same way she has blue eyes or brown hair. it's just a fact. there'll be no fatphobia, talk of eating disorders, she won't be compared to skinny women, she's just gonna be gorgeous and happy and everyone's gonna know she's hot stuff.

harry in this fic is going to be a cowboy and of course featuring mustachrry because there's no good cowboyrry mustachrry fics out there, so i'm taking it upon myself to write one.
