Her.
Avalon Paisley.
She had curly short ginger hair with lavender highlights. Bangs that fell just above her eyes. God her eyes. She had grey eyes with hints of green. Her left eye was Hazel in one spot, heterochromia.
"Umm Tyla?" I realized Avalon was trying to get my attention.
"Oh yeah sorry. You just have really pretty eyes I didn't mean to stare."
She laughed to herself. Her smile was one of those ones that brought the sunshine on a cloudy day. Why am I thinking like this.
"No worries! I've had people staring since I can remember. Now what topic should we choose for the project."
We chatted the rest of class while working on the Spanish assignment. When the bell rang we were further than most groups but still only half done.
"Hey do you want to come over tonight and work on it? My roommate is studying abroad and I just thought a quiet dorm would be nice."
"Sure that sounds great! Text me where to meet what time! I'll see you later Avalon."
"See ya Tyla."
We waved goodbye and parted ways at the end of the hall.
Throughout the day I found myself looking at her. I can't tell why I do. Jackson and I are in a healthy relation ship. Why do I want to be close with her and run my finger through her hair. Maybe kiss her once or- ok tyla get out of your head. No mentally cheating on J we are almost at 1 year. Well no we are almost at 7 months so it wouldn't be that bad. I could tell him... no. That's a problem for a later date. Today I just need to get through in once piece.
After school
I met Avalon outside by the benches. We walked back to the dorms. She was lucky, her roommate dropped left to study abroad for the spring semester leaving her the room to herself.
We walked up 3 flights of stairs and down 5 doors on the right. Her door had flowers on it and they were beautiful. Reminded me of my moms garden back at home. We settled on her bed and worked on the project for hours. Eventually we realized it was 11:30. Jackson had texted me he was going out since I told him I was busy tonight.
"Hey do you want to watch a movie? I've got the extra bed we could make and you could stay here instead of going across campus at midnight. We could always share mine i don't mind though"
"We don't need to make another we can share or I could have the floor. How about a good adult movie lol. I need some intimacy." I dont know if I should have worded it that way but Avalon understood what I meant.
We sat next to each other with blankets and pillows since the air conditioning in her room was broken at night and turned on full blast. We watched in silence as 50 shades of grey was playing on the computer.
The movie finished 2 hours later and we were both almost out. I felt her close the computer and my head rolled onto her shoulder. She tapped my cheek and I opened my eyes. I shrunk into the covers of the bed while she turned the lights off and made sure ethe door was locked. She climbed in next to me and we slept peacefully side by side.
Just her breath and mine.
