3rd person's POV
Anne smiled and took Marcy's hand in hers, Marcy froze at the swift movement before looking up into Anne's eyes. The brunette only smiled and rubbed her thumb over Marcy's hand, with a soft look on her face.
"You know Marcy... we've been best friends forever, and I-I really like you... like a lot, like more than friends do..."
Marcy's face heated up at that as she stammered.
"W-What?"
Anne closed her eyes and let out a breath, "I like you, Marcy. It's okay if you don't feel the same, I just wanted you to know—"
She was soon cut off when Marcy pressed her lips against hers, Anne's eyes widened in shock as a blush spread across her cheeks, but after a second, she let herself relax and kiss back.
She melted into the kiss and brought Marcy closer, smiling heavily.
She soon pulled away as Marcy's smile never left her face, and she gazed into Anne's eyes.
"I never loved someone else like I love you, and I don't think I ever will." Anne beamed as she pulled Marcy near.
"That's a wild thing to say when we're thirteen." Marcy joked as Anne only chuckled.
"Well... maybe, but I do think we'll last forever." Anne whispered before pressing a gentle peck on Marcy's cheek.
Marcy's eyes fluttered shut at the feeling, and for a minute, she felt at peace.
———————————————-
That was a long time ago though, things have changed ever since then.
Anne has changed.
Marcy couldn't say she hasn't changed either because she has, but still she thought one thing would've stayed the same, but even that was too much to ask for apparently.
She knew they were young and naive when they made that promise, but Marcy hoped it was true.
Turns out it never was.
Marcy sighed as she watched from afar as Anne giggled at Sasha's kisses.
"Sasha! Stop!"
The blonde laughed and splattered pecks across her face, "Never!"
Marcy couldn't help the way her stomach churned and she squeezed her eyes shut.
She hated this.
She knew she shouldn't be so selfish, but she couldn't help it.
Anne was her first love, she knew she wasn't hers anymore but deep down she wished she was.
But Marcy knew to respect Anne and Sasha's relationship so she never said anything about it, even if it hurt her.
She was broken out of her thoughts when she heard Anne's angelic laugh break through the air, she looked up to see that Sasha had cracked a joke and it must've been hilarious since Anne was laughing hard.
Marcy sighed and looked away, but at that moment Anne looked over and glanced from Marcy to Sasha.
Anne gave Sasha one last peck on the lips before making her way over to Marcy.
Marcy looked up and was a little caught off guard when Anne was in front of her, smiling slightly.
It was times like these when Marcy saw the old Anne she fell for, she loved these moments where Anne cared enough to approach her.
"C'mon Marcy, don't be a stranger, come hang with me and Sash!"
Marcy hesitated before glancing at Sasha then back at Anne.
