Mud Fight

I glanced from across the room at the brunette sitting a few desks ahead of me. I could never understand how he was always so carefree, even with all of the stress of school work as well as probable outside distractions.

I could remember when we were forced to stay home and only see other people through screens, he was always carefree then as well. For all I know his life may just be that easy and I just love to complain. I've been told I complain a lot so it wouldn't appear out of the ordinary.

The ringing of the bell snapped me out of my thoughts as I had realised I spaced out.... Again.

"Star? Are you there?" I looked over to my left and I caught the eyes of the brunette looking directly at me.

"Y-yeah I'm here! Sorry, I spaced out again!" I giggled slightly while scratching my head. I could see slight disappointment slide across his features.

"I think I'm only realising now just how much you space out, It will most likely become a problem in the future y'know?" I just sighed in response. Never would I have thought that he'd be disappointed in me but who knows.

"Why are you worrying about my future? Do you have plans of being in it?" I liked to joke around with him, maybe it's my way of hinting things to him.

A slightly embarrassed look crossed his face as he stuttered over his reply.

"Uh.. Yeah? We probably also should get going to next period! You have Art correct..?"

Nodding, I collected my things and stood up. Turning to face him I gave him a smile as I turned and walked out of the classroom.

Normally I would be looking forward to art but I'm just not feeling it today. Walking around the school I drew closer and closer to my locker, I planned on leaving my things in there while I skipped Art.

Opening my locker I looked around as I spotted the familiar brown hair I saw a few minutes ago. So I did what anyone reasonably would. I closed my locker and quickly locked it, ran over, grabbed his wrist and ran in the opposite direction of where he was previously walking.

"S-Star?! Let go! We've got to get to class! The teacher will get mad if we're late and If we are late enough, a detention will be given out to us!" He yelled over to me.

I didn't bother to respond as I glanced over my shoulder and gave him a warm smile. A pinkish colour dusted over his cheeks as I continued to run through the building.

I honestly didn't care for all the formalities of detentions and getting told off by people who teach you things you don't even use in life. Zayne however cared very much about the formalities due to being a little bit of a Nerd and disliked getting into trouble but come on, live a little.

The Sun was now in view after escaping the trapping building. The school oval, normally at least one class would be doing sport on it but due to the rain we've gotten recently, it's gotten a bit muddy so teachers have been avoiding it.

Zayne took one look at the muddy oval and instantly yelled-

"STAR NO WAY IN HELL ARE WE GOING ONTO THAT OVAL, WE WILL GET OUR UNIFORMS DIRTY AND BE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE!"

Like I stated previously, I had no cares for being in trouble so I continued to drag Zayne closer and closer to the oval.

The first thing that happened when we set foot onto the oval, was falling over into a mud pile.

Silence filled us both until I erupted with laughter.

"Zayne, that was totally your fault, I bet you tripped me!" I called over to him, he was quiet until I was met with a mud ball to the stomach.

Zayne had just thrown mud at me.

"OH It's on!" I yelled as I scooped up mud and rolled it around in my palm. Once it was sort of solid I threw it like it was snow and hit a direct hit into his chest.

This continued until something came onto the speakers.

"Will Star Weiss and Zayne Ellison, please stop playing in the mud on the school oval and make their way to the student office. Thank you."

Shock flew across our faces as we looked at each other and back at the speaker. Like the immature children we are, we laughed hysterically, slowly walking towards the school's Student Office. We were totally in so much trouble.
